#Character freez while defeating monsters

Hello,

I have just experienced a game bug where my character just froze while battling multiple monsters in the cave of memories.

Reproduction Steps : I just went down a level and it was one with multiple monsters on a small floor. I started battling and my character just froze.

Repro Rate : just happened once for now.
Game Platform : steam
Game Version : 1.2b
Input Mode : keyboard and mouse
PC and GPU :

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz 4.00 GHz
Installed RAM 16,0 GB
Storage 1.82 TB HDD ST2000DM001-1ER164, 112 GB SSD Crucial_CT120M500SSD1
Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (6 GB)
System Type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

From the video, I noticed your character is frozen and only moving bit by bit. Just to confirm: were you pressing any buttons during that, or was your character moving like that on its own? 😮

Also, could you share your in-game display settings? You can find them in the game’s settings menu.

Hello, I just had the same issue, unfortunately I didn't make a video.
I use the same weapon and it happened in the cave of memories as well. I was fighting some mobs to which I died then, cause they were making constant damage to me while I was stuck in the animation. Even when I spawned in front of the entrance of the cave of memories, I was stuck in the animation, couldn't move and couldn't press any buttons or swap my inventory. The only thing that helped was restarting the game.

Hello!, same happened to me just now in the fire cave, while fighting the big slime, my character also freezes mid swing, can be rotated, but not move from that frozen spot, even if all life is depleted and I get sent to the cave entrance the character is still stuck and cannot be moved. Stuck condition remains even if day expires. This is a repeated issue for me, so far it has only happened when fighting the big slime spawning baby slimes.

I had this issue last night! Had to force close my game as I'd frozen completely! I reported it in the crash report section, I play on PS5 so it must be an all platform issue!

Very annoying when you lose a full day 😭

Hello,
just here to bump a little, this exact thing happened today.
Not mine, friend was playing, but the situation was:

  • Was digging rocks underground, one rock spawned the big blue slime, imediatelly switched to hammer weapon to hit and mid animation character got frozen.
  • Was able to rotate somehow (?) when using movement, but animation was frozen and they couldn't click or switch to anything else, just open menu.
  • Waited to die, after dying they respawned at the underground entrance still frozen and unable to act.
    Only solution for them was unfortunatelly reloading to last save.

Hello! it was roughly 4-5 times, on the town cave on any level that spawned the big slime for me. I was using a sword-type weapon, don't remember if it happened with a specific one but it could be either the Naganian sword or the Feros sword. The freeze happened exactly as how DaWiHs reported on the 23rd. My theory was that this could be connected to the fighting of multiple slimes spawned by the Mother Slime as this was the only scenario where I experienced the issue, being swarmed by slimes.

This has happened to me three times today, while fighting big slimes. Had to restart every time!! I was using the flameguard great sword and this happened on floor 139 and 137

Yes! It was all big slime encounters. I've been going down the mines to gather slime Goop for crafting purposes so I'm actively looking for these. What I have theorized as most likely source of the freeze is me attacking a baby slime right before it settles on the floor. I've been successfully battling big slimes but purposely avoiding the baby slimes as they are launched and only attacking once they are settled in the ground and moving. No freezes on those occasions.

Rest of the videos show what I can do after the character freezes, I can access the inventory, but not the game menu so I cannot restart from inside the game. If the day expires, character will start the next day on the freeze state and reloading that save solves the issue.
