• Title: New Fishing Hook mechanic causes game crash.
• Reproduction Steps: When fish hit the hook and I'm about to press the button, game crashes.
• Repro Rate: Every time when pressing the hook button. I have restarted the game 5 times and keep crashing.
• Game Platform: Steam PC
• Game Version: Latest Update v1.2b (just updated this morning)
• Input Mode: Keyboard and mouse.

yes. it happened after successfully caught fish or insect. Happened in every spot of the map.

And for fishing — does it also crash, or have you not been able to catch any fish at all since the latest update?

it crashed the moment I caught it for the first time. I went to caught an insect as soon as the game has been loaded. then it crashed, load my game again for every one of those clip, after successfully caught one, it crashed.

all of my three save files are experiencing the same issues

May I ask if you were always using the Sturdy Computer before this issues?

Yes, before the update I used to monitor insects and fish to complete museum donation, or bought some decorations. I used it almost every morning and night.

We've also checked your PC specifications and noticed that your GPU is an NVIDIA 930M.
Could you please try the following steps?

NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Preferred Graphics Processor → set it to NVIDIA

Let us know if the issue persists after making this change.

I already have set both global settings & program settings in Manage 3D Settings to Nvidia. It was just fine before the update, I have caught many fish, insects and critters.

Yes I just tested right now when I went into the ocean to catch a critter and the game crashed. Not sure if this also is an issue with other players, but I tried testing the fishing mechanic, and no fish showed up at all, no matter where I went to fish.

Also, when you’re fishing, does this happen in all spots where you can’t catch any fish?

Hello... i have the same Problem! I started playing the game again yesterday after a long time. I'm playing on Steam, latest update. But it's impossible to catch bugs or fish. The game crashes every time, and I have to start the day all over again. I've tried this at least 20 times now. I've tried fishing in several bodies of water. No luck, and the bug problem persists. Before I started playing again, this wasn't an issue. And I've played for 550 hours without any problems. Catching bugs underwater is also impossible. How can I fix this? Thanks!

We’d like to share an update: we’ve just built a new testing branch that may help resolve the crash issue when fishing or catching insects/critters.

If you’re open to trying it out, you can switch from the None branch to the testing branch on Steam by following these steps:

• Open your Steam Library and right-click Coral Island.
• Select Properties… from the dropdown menu.
• In the left-hand menu, click Beta.
• Enter the following code when prompted:
  Encounter2Cosponsor3Lake0Enviable3Subside1
• Select the branch named urgent_testing from the dropdown.
• Close the Properties window and let the game update.

Once you’ve tried it, please let us know how it goes! Thank you so much for your help 🙏

Hi Ardian, So my save file completely disappeared. But I still want to see if the crashing continues in a new save file. I just unlocked the bugnet and fishing line so ill let you know in a sec if it crashes

So the fishing and bug catching worked without a crash. I just cant access my current savefile is all. 🙂

So it seems using mods in this latest update is causing the game crash.
I have removed them -#1446007877272862720 message- and gonna test whether all of them are the cause or just some.

Finally it's solved now. In my case, Camera Zoom mod was the cause. As in the mod page says that this mod requires frequent update whenever a new game version release
