Hey everyone don’t know exactly where to put this but I play on PS5 and was almost done with fall in year one. Today I log on and see that my save is for the middle of fall but I recalled being a day away from ending fall. Is there anyway to get that back? And where should I put future issues that deal with this. Not sure if it’s a bug or not thanks in advance

I play on PS5 and I use a controller. The game version is v1.2-1243

Could you let us know when was the last time you played the game in real time? Was it before the latest hotfix?

In the meantime, please try the following steps to check if the backup of your missing save file is available:

  • Go to Settings and set Show Backup to "Yes."
  • Start a new game and play until the opening cutscene finishes.
  • Return to the main menu and open the save list.
  • Toggle Show Backup (bottom-left of the screen) to see if the backup appears.

If possible, kindly share a video or screenshots of the result.

The last time that I played was 11/19/25 at 9pmEST. I have show backup checked already and it does show a backup but not the one that I was looking for

Could you let us know what your last in-game activities were before logging out? And did you experience any crash, freeze, or anything unusual during that play session?

I just ended the day that I was working on. Saw the game saved message and then loaded up into the next day. Got the notification for the spooky festival that day then exited the game

Got it, thank you for explaining what happened before you quit the game.

Could you also describe what you were doing in-game on Fall 27, Asta? Even small details can help us narrow things down. For example—were you farming, mining, fishing, attending cutscenes, completing quests or doing anything else before ending the day?

And when you logged back in for the first time after closing the game on Spooky Festival day, did the game show any pop-up message like:

  • a notification that the save might be corrupted,
  • an error message,
  • or a prompt asking you to open a Backup save?

I believe that I just finished the quest to remove all the black roots off the island. I also believe that I reached lvl 20 in the fire shaft of the caves. Of course I did some farming and ranching.

As for receiving any type of message before playing. There was no message about a corrupt save file, error message or a request for a backup file.

Could you confirm if you have PS+ Cloud Saves enabled on your PS5?
Sometimes the console may automatically sync an older cloud save over the newer local one.

If possible, could you please also check your Error History to see if anything was logged around the time you last played:

Settings → System → Error History

Hi,
I’m playing on PS5 in single player mode.
My version is v1.2-1243
I’ve started my session on Year 1 and 19th of Winter played all the way to Year 2 1st day of Spring.
Did many things in that eleven days, but mostly regular things, upgrading the farm, made some offerings, rearranged the house, worked on my glasshouse etc.

I left the game on the morning of the 1st day of spring as I’ve mentioned, then closed the game.
Like normally after every sleep the game said the progress has been saved.
After a few hours when I came back, the save game still shows ‘Year 1 and 19th of Winter’, everything is completely lost.
I’ve checked the last save file on my PS5 also on the PS Cloud, both of them shows the right date and time, but my progress isn’t inside those files.

Tried the ‘Show backup’ function with no luck either, so seems like the progress is simply lost.
Since it was a huge progress it will possibly make me step away from the game, but I wanted to submit this report to save other people from this completely devastating experience.

Before we continue the investigation, could we please confirm one thing?
Some players were able to recover their missing save by doing the following steps:

  • Go to Settings and set Show Backup to "Yes".
  • Start a new game and play until the opening cutscene finishes.
  • Return to the Main Menu and open the Save File List.
  • Toggle Show Backup (bottom-left of the screen) to check if the backup save appears.

Just to double-check, did you already try this full sequence?

If possible, could you also share:

  • A screenshot or video of your in-game Save File List, and
  • What does it look like when Show Backup is turned on?

That will help the team confirm whether the backup is truly missing or if the game isn’t detecting it correctly.

Hi I’m here to report I’m having the same issue it happened today.

I played last night from Summer 4 all the way to Summer 10, and then I saved successfully. The following day, in the morning, I did one additional day to Summer 11. I saved successfully and left. I logged in again same day but in the evening, and my progress reverted to Summer 4. I don’t understand how this can happen? I’m playing PS5, and it’s a multiplayer server with two people both PS5 consoles. I also had two seperate sessions and both saved, but it reverted all the way back to that first of three sessions. I checked my cloud save and the local and cloud both matched. I never overwrote any saves. I checked for the in game backup as you noted above but nothing came of that and my progress is lost 🙁

I just don’t want to keep playing if it’s going to do this again I play with my partner and he is devastated. He’s not willing to keep going unless the bug is fixed and he doesn’t want to do any troubleshooting anymore we went through the thread and tried everything so he’s just tired, but I personally would prefer to try playing.

The team is actively investigating this save rollback issue, but it’s a tricky one, and we’re still gathering more information to pinpoint the cause.
