Coral Guardian sprinkler not working

Title: I'm on day 4 of spring on a new save file. I have purchased the coral guardian pack back when it first came out. This is my first time playing in a while and i did search the discord for possible posts but saw nothing. On day 2 I noticed the crops were dry so I axed the sprinkler and set it down again. Day 3 was raining. Day 4 i walked out and the crops are dry again, I had to manually water them.

Reproduction Steps: The only thing that I can think I did different is I'm playing with a Nintendo Switch pro controller instead of mouse and keyboard.

Repro Rate: Every in game day so far.

You will unlock sprinklers later in game. Check inventory, it will say what the item is

I knew that. I've played this game so much before. My brain just thought it was a sprinkler.
