Hey I fixed this by disabling the touchpads but game would freeze if I ever brushed the touchpads on accident and then finally crashed the last time so I disabled touchpads and its been fine since. Dont know if you can disable those by default or if that would help other folks. I have the new steamdeck, top tier.

And if you’re able to recreate the issue on your end, could you record a quick video and send it over? Even a simple phone recording is totally fine and really helps us check what’s going on

Hi it happened a lot when I would use tools like the pickaxe and if I brushed the touchpad at all on accident the character would freeze with the tool poised over their head and I couldn't use any other buttons except to swing around in another direction. Could not move anywhere else or open any game menus. I could open steam menus and navigate steam but not any of the games menus. Time would keep ticking though even with the game minimized. It was just my character that was stuck and other characters would walk by like normal. I don't play multiplayer at all btw. Sometimes my character would unstick if I spammed another button for a really long time (I dont know if that actually helped or if something just timed out in the background?) but the last time I couldnt get it to unstick so I went into the games controller settings and disabled the touchpads completely for this game. I dont remember if I forced closed the game or did a hard reboot the steamdeck first.. I'll get to a save point and try to undo the fix so I can capture a video of it sticking. Do you just want that uploaded here?

Well noted, and thank you for sharing such detailed information! If you don’t mind, could you try to replicate the issue and share it with us so we can take a closer look at what’s happening? Even a simple phone recording that shows the exact moment you touch the touchpad would be a huge help in our investigation 🙇♂️
