#To the Surface quest wont start

I completed "Starlet expedition", without a cutscene playing. And did not realize that there was supposed to be a cutscene. I have played for a while forward and realized that "To the Surface" has not started/appeared in journal/quest tab.

is this a bug because all of the answers found in google tell that it should start after "Starlet expedition" quest.

Do you recall what in-game date you completed the "Starlet Expedition" cutscene? 😮

Also, could you share your entire Backup folder so we can also check the previous days? It's located in the same place as the DailySave file. You can compress the folder to a zip file and attach it here.

Could you help us by sharing a bit more detail? We're curious how you managed to complete the "Starlet Expedition" quest without the cutscene triggering. Did you just hand over all the required materials to Cho Oyu and the quest instantly completed?

If so:

  • Where did you give the items to Cho Oyu (in which location)?
  • Around what in-game time did you hand over the items?

These details will really help us look into why the follow-up quest ("To the Surface") didn’t appear. Thanks so much for your help!

What i remember is that i picked up the items needed, saw my mission change to go and give them to Cho Oyu, i went to oracle's chamber when it opened in the morning and gave them to Cho Oyu

The game lagged at some point dont remember if it was when entering Oracles Chamber or when i gave the items to Cho Oyu

Just a couple more questions:

  • Do you remember which game version you were on when you completed the quest (handing the items to Cho Oyu in the Oracle Chamber)?
  • When the game lagged, did it fully freeze or just stutter for a moment? And did anything else unusual happen after that?
  • After you gave the items to Cho Oyu, did the quest immediately change to “complete” but still remain visible in your journal?

Regarding your question about forcing the quest to start — unfortunately, there's currently no in-game way to manually trigger it. For now, we’d suggest holding off on continuing that particular save until our team investigates the issue further.

That said, feel free to continue playing on your other save where the quest is still active in the meantime.

We’ll let you know as soon as we have any updates or fixes for this!

Version was v1.2-1242

The game stuttered for a moment and after that it was completed in the journal/quest tab but there was no notification of it being completed (if there is supposed to be one)
