Lots of crashes since updating

Hello,

I played for several hours yesterday and had no crashes. Today on the PS5, after updating to the latest version v1.2-1241 the game can barely make it through one day without crashing. There doesn't seem to be any consistent thing that causes it either. I've been clearing trash in the ocean, on the fast travel map, walking around and a bug started its scare countdown, closed a chest, all of these things happened right before a crash. I also noticed it now takes quite a while for my saved game to appear on the Play menu. Is anyone else having issues with the newest version? Is there any way I can downgrade on the PS5? It's nearly unplayable today when yesterday was perfectly fine. 😭

Hi! I’m playing Coral Island on PS5, and the game keeps crashing randomly.
This issue already happened before the latest update, but since the update it’s gotten much worse — I can hardly play through a single in-game day without the game shutting down.

The crashes seem completely random: sometimes it happens while I’m diving in the ocean, other times when I’m collecting sap or doing other regular activities.

Could you please look into this? It’s a great game, but right now it’s really hard to play on PS5.

Hi, Im also experiencing crashing issues on my PS5 Game after the new update.. I've played the game three times today from around 11AM Until 5:30PM in Hong Kong. Its been playing smooth yesterday but after todays update, i cant even make it half a day i the game. I'm playing single player mode. I'm on Winter 09 Year 01.

The first time I played this morning I made it to around 3pm in-game time and then the game Froze and keep ringing. I had to cancel the game and restart. Then the second time I replayed the same day in-game from the crash for about two more hours and then it crashed again mid-day. I then deleted the game from my console, reinstalled it, and then tried a third time. It just crashed again. Ive sent the reports each time as well after each crash to the playsation servers.

Same for me as well. I was able to play without experiencing crashes right after the update but after I restarted my PS5, I can’t finish an in-game day without it crashing. 😭

I experienced 2 crashes, haven't been able to finish a day. I'm in fall 24 I think. Once it was when using the rope to leave the fire mine. The other crash happened when placing an automated chest (I had already placed 5 in a row before, crashed on the 6th)

• Reproduction Steps: happens randomly. Sometimes towards the end of the day, sometimes right at the start, sometimes around middle of the day. Has even crashed while on pause. Only way i could get through a "day" was to go to bed as soon as I had finished that day's necessary "tasks".

• Repro Rate 5 times in the past hour. I have tried resetting the playstation, rebuilding it, deleting and redownloading the game etc.

Same issue here on PS5. I played about 3 days with no issue then could not complete my 4th day. Restarted 3 times and it crashed each time. Doing a different activity on each crash, and different times of the day. So nothing obvious triggering the crash.

Decoration mode and underwater were also two of mt crashes. I think the 3rd was fast travel but I can't remember the location I travelled to.

Same issue on the PS5 here too. I o ly made it 2 hours in game before it crashed. Its happened four times in the span of an hour of play time. Uninstalled it to check if it were that too. It can be if I'm farming, walking into the town or going down to the mines it'll happen randomly. It was running smoothly yesterday then the update today has just caused major issues. The game seems to be struggling loading assets when running into a new area after a load screen or cut scene.

For example, does it freeze, show a black screen with the message “Something went wrong with this game or app,” or display a popup saying “Connection failed, try again later”?

Mine has been crashing every day so I can no longer progress. Sometimes it crashes after a few minutes if idle and going back out from eg the map or inventory. Switched to playing on Xbox-X since was having so many issues on PC via steam. Was working great until this most recent update.

Now since update I'm lucky if I make it one day. More often than not, even if I completely shutdown xbox wait 5min then turn back on before starting coral island. It crashes before the end of first day.

Most often seems to occur either after talkin to someone in town or after hanging out with them. Perhaps when it is supposed to trigger me gaining heart ???

As side note, I was at museum level B turned in a couple critters, now it says I'm at level SS but never got any rewards when I went to sleep for the change from B-A and never spent any time on A... Seems odd, not sure if related.

So this is in multiplayer. My fiancee no longer craches (he is ps5) but I as the host(also ps5) will crash randomly. theres no rhym or reason for the crash either. Sometimes we will get a day in other times it crashes back to back.

The crash doesnt seem tied to any specific activity on my end. Fiancee was mining and i was bug catching the first couple times. The last time we tried it crashed at 1730ish while i was underwater. and before latest update i had only ever crashed once, now its a regular occurance and i honestly havnt tried in 3 days because its frustrating to keep losing all that progress

Turning off WiFi didn’t help my crash, there’s nothing in particular causing my crash but I’ve been stuck on Summer 16 year 2 for hours. I gave up trying to play, fishing? Crash. Mining? Crash. Farming? Crash. Interacting with my pets? Crash. Going on dates with my husband? Crash.. I finally made it passed 16 to 17 and then it crashed again.. I really can’t wait for the update to where we can manually save because having to redo days over and losing so much progress everything is really making the joy of the game go away. Yup, i didnt play again since then because i can't seem to get through even a day in the game.

I'm playing on ps5 and I've also experienced a big increase in crashes since the update. I've had to start the same in-game day thrice at a certain point. The crashes tended to happen later in the in-game day, and a few times it happened after a hangout / coming out of a hangout.

I've played through the whole of winter without crashes on ps5. I did experience occasional lag when starting a new day, a restart of the ps5 would not fix this issue.

Crash happened randomly. I've experienced crash more than 2 times for 1 game day. So I have to redo the day over and over again.

Usually when the game time pass thr 12pm. It will crash.

So I sleep to save my progress at 12 pm. And for next day it didn't crash. But some other time, it crash again.

Some games I literally load it and just stand still do t even move my character fromd my house and it will crash still. I cant ever get it to the point where my character finishes a day to even have them wake up. We have played a few rl hours since uodated and thus far the only thing that happened is player 2 crashed whe. Transitioning in mine. Screen went black and he couldnt access menus or anything. He had to force close game and couldnt rejoin til i finished day and remade lobby (I assume maybe that might have been an intnet hiccup but dont k ow for sure) and havnt had it happen sincd @polar ibex is the one who had the screen issue i tagged him so when he is off work maybe he can explain it better (he is also ps5)

My game has been crashing a LOT since the update as well. Had not been crashing before. Started beach cleaning festival and boom, crash. This game is nearly unplayable and stressful when you don’t know when your progress will be gone. I paid for it and now considering requesting a refund.

Can you clarify what is your platform? What is your game version? Can you replicate the crash and send the video of it here? Does the game crash always after the same exact activity in game or there are different triggered you noticed?
Not a dev, but the more info you provide the more helpful the team can be and fix the cause of the issue.

@umbral rover I can’t replicate it since I’m past that day now. It seems to happen randomly when I’m playing for 2+ hours. I’m on Xbox S. There’s no real pattern to it, other than the ocean and festivals seem to cause more crashes, but also fast travel.

Game unplayable at the moment. I'm on PC, and lots of time it crashes in game, mostly randomly. But now every time I open the app and try and load into my game, it crashes. It's so frustrating! I was also playing in multiplayer but it crashed on my personal save as well.

And provide as much additional info as you can. Rule of thumb - if the devs don’t have the details they can’t replicate it and fix it.

The last time I remember it crashed I was collecting scanvengables underwater and it was towards the end of day but I did not get the chance to go to bed.

I started a new game and have not had issues with crashing but have not played my original saved game that was crashing haven’t wanted to waste the time and risk it not saving.

Yes, different activities. If i remembered correctly the first happened when I was loading my save of Summer Day 3. Then the second one happened when I was browing a chest that I've put on my farm, in front of the house (Also on Summer Day 3 since I reloaded a save after the first crash).

The third one happened around Summer Day 7 when I was cleaning the trashes underwater to open up some areas.

The two Day 3 crashes happened before, Day 7 happened after the latest patch was installed.

I also reported these crashes on Playstation (when crashes occur, you have the choice to report it).

If I remembered correctly what I wrote in the description of the crashes was:

On Day 3: "While Loading a Save" and "While Managing the storage or chest"

On Day 7: "While cleaning up trash underwater"

This is what I remembered I wrote, I might be phrasing some words wrongly tho.

Yes. The Summer Day 7 crash happened around Empat Pulu. I managed to clear the areas where I remembered the crash happened on Summer Day 7 (cant remember if its down or up of "you are here" tho, but its somewhere aroun that area).

It seems pretty random, if I have to be honest. I played it while the internet connection is turned off in the settings of my PS5 today.

I will play the game in offline mode starting today and see if that changes anything when it regards to crashes.

From what Im seeing in reddit posts these crashes happened when the multiplayer update launched? Can you also confirm this?

Is there a way to check the "Report Problem" Window? It only appears to me when the console crash. If it helps, I reported those crashes at the exact date and time of the crash since thats the only time the "report problem" appears.

And yes, you're right: the “Report Problem” window can’t be opened again after it’s submitted. It only appears right when the crash happens, so what you already wrote there + the dates you provided here are exactly what we need.

Same for us. we're on PS5 CoOp and keep crashing, 3 times on the same day now. Submitted the crash reports but it's always the host and host has been doing different activities so doesnt seem like any one thing is causing it. 2nd player has always been mining but they werent the ones that crashed

Hi, I’m brand new to the Discord, and I joined specifically to see if other people are having the same issues with crashing. I’m playing single player on PC. My game is freezing nearly every other in-game day, seemingly randomly during all different activities. Scavenging underwater, during cutscenes, loading screen between locations, opening inventory, checking the Goddess Blessing, etc. It’s happening a lot near the end of the day, so all progress from that day is lost.

Every time, the game completely freezes without warning. Just stops, but won’t crash or close until I force-close it. I’m going to try turning the WiFi off and seeing if that helps.

Edit: Just played one in-game day with the WiFi off. Everything seemed good until the day ended and I got the “Game Saved” message. Then the game froze until it eventually crashed to Desktop. I’m feeling nervous now and hoping the save file isn’t corrupted. :/
