My current quest objection is "Enter the Cave of Memories" but when I get there, it tells me I can't go in because I don't know whose room it is.

somewhere else it says: The chieftain takes down the barrier in a cutscene, if you haven’t seen that cutscene you need to retrace your steps in the questline. Check the giants village on a sunny day, check the fire mine seal and maybe do the quest to give the giants clothes.

@hasty quartz @dull iron Cave of Memories unlocks separately from Savannah.
While you access Savannah after completing 18 offering, to access Cave of Memories you need to complete Advanced altar.
You can check for yourself all unlock conditions at the lake altar, go to any altar and click on progress and you'll see what unlock at what point.
