For the combat: of the elemental caverns, I think the more advanced you go, the more XP the enemies give. So if those, the fire cavern would be best. That said, I still haven't yet reached level 10 for combat, myself, but having unlocked the ||Cave of Memories|| has been my biggest boost in advancing combat XP.

For the fishing: A big key for fishing for me has been just having patience and "letting out the line" regularly when they start to struggle. That said, upgrading your rod most definitely makes a big difference in making fish easier to catch. In some cases, for the bigger type fish, I don't know if they're even possible to catch with the lower-level rods. It basically gives you more line and thus more time to work with when the fish start struggling against it. With a fully upgraded rod, I have barely needed to let out line at all for the small, easy fish. Just straight up reel them in. And catching those bigger fish becomes wholly possible.

Diving: There are definitely several upgrades and missions requiring osmium kelp or kelp essence, so hanging on to and not selling what you harvest there would be wise. At least until you're sure you've unlocked/upgraded all that you want. I'm currently only awake due to a touch of insomnia, so my brain is too fuzzy to remember much on the exact amounts and items/missions, but I do know my hoarding tendencies paid off for the osmium kelp.

Farming: I'm not sure how far you are, but various crops are involved in more altars, some not unlocked until later. Honestly, there's been such a wide variety of things needed, I think the best advice is to keep some chests with about 10-15 of each crop at hand, including new ones that show up in store year 2. Make sure you get fruit trees started once you can. And definitely seek out the quality upgrades for seeds and hay, so you get a good amount of osmium quality later!
