#Quality Crop skill has no effect on harvest results

Build: v1.2-1240
Platforms: PC (Steam) and Steam Deck. The testing was done on a completely reinstalled game on PC.

I noticed I didn’t get a single "Quality crop" popup after harvesting a large field (500+), only "Double crop" and "Replant". I cheked on the Steam Deck too. Since I don’t know whether you are supposed to get a popup, I tested whether the skill even works.

Test conditions:

  • New game, freshly started for the test.
  • 200 turnips
  • Farming Mastery 2
  • Crops are basic, not upgraded.
  • Harvesting (with a scythe) then reloading the game.
  • 5 times harvesting without taking the "Quality Crop" skill.
  • 5 times harvesting after taking the "Quality Crop" skill on the same morning as the harvest (don’t know whether that matters or not).

Results:

  • Without "Quality Crop": 907 normal (90.7%), 74 bronze (7.4%), 19 silver (1.9%)
  • With "Quality Crop": 897 normal (89.7%), 77 bronze (7.7%), 26 silver (2.6%)

Under these test conditions, "Quality Crop" did nothing. The results are within the margin of error and definitely do not reflect the ‘10% chance to harvest better-quality crops’ working.

Edit: I tested whether Double Crop and Replant work under these conditions, and they did.

I don’t know how a Spring Day 5 save made for the test is going to help, but sure.
