Co-op save crashing as soon as I try to open it

Hi there,

I know this is probably a long shot but after the recent update I got an error message saying my co-op game was “corrupted” during the latest update and now every time i try to launch it, it crashes instantly. I’ve attached a picture of the warning I got.

I’ve tried deleting the game and reinstalling, then clearing my cache and restarting my ps5 and restarting the game, but nothing is helping, I’m almost 100 hours in with my friend and really don’t want to start over and lose all our progress 😢

Do you have any suggestions on what I could try? Thank you so much!

This the same thing happening to me 😔 I can't get into my farm at all it keeps crashing 😩 I had so much progress i had two baby's every time I click on my farm to get in it crashes i have been able to get in for a month now 😔 I'm on ps5 pls help

Could you share a video of what happens when you try to open the save file and the game crashes? That would really help us understand the issue better 🙏

To help us narrow it down, could you let us know:

• When was the last time you played the game in real time?
• What activities you were doing before this happened?

It was two to three weeks ago and before I got off I went to sleep in game

Do you remember what you were up to on that last in-game day before the issue happened?
Like, did you finish a main quest or start building anything new?

It might have been the giants cus i passed all the caves but the giants wasn't showing up and the i couldn't listen to the story and get past to the desert because the giants wasn't showing up the last thing I remember buying is the computer

I play the game with my friend for 3+ hours every night, and it was honestly working perfectly up until the update came through for me last night and now this happens every time I try to log on to our farm.

The same thing is happening to me! Ive played two days ago and now i can’t. It’s the second year and the day of the beach clean up.

Hi, there was a code that appeared with prompts asking if I wanted to report the crash after trying to load the multiplayer save file, which I did send several times after it happened but that's all it gave me. I did also try to verify my game files through stream but that sadly didn't fix it either.

Could you please share the crash logs with us here? You can find them by copy-pasting this file path into your Windows Explorer: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\Crashes.
Once there, filter the files by date, then send us the most recent .xml file 🙂

Im having the same issue on pc co op I just cleared alot of the ocean and i went to bed and it said it could save my game then it crashed 🙁

Single player works but any co-op feature doesnt work about a week into the game, is this because since multiplayer is still WIP? i think if it did just come out

And also seems to be not able to save eventually im guessing the save game is corrupted and unreal engine cant load it so it crashes

Hi, after checking with our teams, it appears that both your save file and its backup have unfortunately become corrupted. This is why the game is unable to load your save, resulting in the crashing issue you experienced.

The latest update included a fix that allows the game to access a backup save in cases like this, but in your situation, it seems both files were affected.

We’re truly sorry about this and completely understand how frustrating it must be to lose your progress. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this has caused 🙇‍♀️
