I am at the point where I keep resetting the game and keep thinking I am off to a bad start but I also am one of those guys that likes optimization. sadly, I think I cant have the two in this game till I make the mistakes year 1 and 2 at this point. But at this point I am back at spring day 1 year 1 and eventhough I know the land people there in spring and heard about merfolk, Ocean Farm and Savannah, I have no knowledge of the plot and I would like to keep it that way.

But because I like to optimize my gameplay and dont care about Item spoilers, Any Tips on Items, Skills, Farm Layouts or Game Mechanic or Order tips I should know? Anyone I have talked to said mines first as a priority but there is so much to this game, i dont want to do something without a plan or knowledge on why something is important (and if it is story important, it is just best to say "Story" for reason.

Get on coral.guide have the tabs open for the bugs and fish you need for every season. Focus on those when you can. You will advance more quickly if you complete the museum on a timely manner. Without minmaxing I finished the game on my first go round by end of year two. I've never stressed about finishing but its easy when you know what you'll need. When I had the guide I was done by summer year 2. Its also easier if you dedicate each day to something, so one day mining, the next diving, the next fishing and bug catching, then the day after talking to npcs. The schedule has to be adjusted when theres a different kind of weather pattern. If you are stressed about money start with a NG+ file (only if you're on pc) and you can start with 2 million, 20 million or 40 million depending on the file you copy. If you cant use that, then likely you wont finish till end of year 2 or middle 3. But everyone plays at their own pace, so do whatever works best for you

I would also save some of the rarer items like red beryl or pink diamond so yoou can replicate them and sell them and donate them to wither the museum or alter. If you care about acheivements. If not, donate those gems to the museum because some rare gems come up more frequently than others

if you want to be efficient "time" wise you just need to make sure that you complete the museum and the altars as soon as possible, to do that you cant miss the season-locked stuff, as in, in spring you need to catch/harvest all the spring-only stuff and deliver that.
everything else can be done whenever, mines/ocean/townies can be worked on in the back
Like aquarius said, use http://coral.guide to check what you need each season and work on that first.

Thanks @fallow meteor @manic marsh

one more question: is there any items or crops you would focus on outside of museum and alter items?

I always plant at least one of each crop I can buy and get extras of what makes money. In spring it’s potatoes because they grow so quick

@manic marsh @fallow meteor I don’t know who wants to answer this question but eventually when I get a shed and farm Design in place and it’s closer to the time I end up making lab items at rank C town, what would be some tips for that automation stuff? Do I then put all machines into a shed or two with Autochests for saving space or is there another way about using those items
