I upgraded my house for the first time and while the outside reflects this the inside doesn't

You mentioned this was your first time upgrading the house—just to confirm, was it the upgrade where you provide 20 stone and 50 wood to Dinda and Joko at no coin cost? 😮

No. I always considered that 'upgrade' part of the tutorial because it's basically free. It was the one just after that that costs 5,000.

Alright, I just checked your save file, and it looks like all you need to do is sleep until the next day and voila~
Your house upgrade will be complete! 🎉

Also, you’ll notice a difference on the outside of the house. Here’s how it looks before the upgrade:

And here’s what’s after, you’ll see a small extra room added on the left side of your house:
