Constant crashing. I’m the host, I’ve hardly crashed except from known bugs. My friend (P2) is the one who constantly crashes.

It began as P2 never crashing. P2 never crashed during year 1. The game is now on year 2 of summer.

At some point during year 2, P2 began crashing periodically. Now the crash is once a day.

  • Reproduction Steps:
    Unsure in conclusion.

We’ve tried avoiding known crashes.

We’ve tried avoiding anything anyone said will cause a crash.

Eventually, P2 decided to just stand still or/and do nothing an entire in game day.. then eventually, close to night time, P2 crashed out.

We are still trying to figure out the cause.

It may have something to do with lab upgrades, as the host has upgraded 5 items and P2 has upgraded nothing.

Example: the host upgraded all sprinkler attachments, and has the auto feeder and petter.

We believe that when the host researched their first one in the lab. (the auto fertilizer attachment for the sprinkler).
Then P2 started periodically crashing.
And it got worse.. with the more the host researched in the lab.

Perhaps P2 and the host need the same items researched?

We are unsure if this is the cause.
And we will be trying to have P2 research everything the host has.

So that P2 and the host have the same lab unlocks.

(Aka development equipment)

I will add a comment in this thread about our results

  • Repro Rate:
    Once an in game day.

  • In-Game Date & Time:

Anytime of day, except (maybe) mornings.

  • Players & Platform:
    2 players.
    Me: The Host.
    Him: P2.

Both of us are on PS5

  • Game Version:
    P2 and Host have same version
    Version: 1.2-1239

  • Input Mode:
    Host: PS5 Edge Controller
    P2: PS5 dual shock controller

To developer/tech team: please fix, my friend is raging at Coral Island because of these constant crashes. They are in an awful mood.

It would be much appreciated.

Sadly, P2 won't be able to do the lab equipment because that also causes them to crash 🙃

  • Additional Details

Issue 1:
Ever since P2 has gotten married, the game keeps sending the same ‘congratulations on your marriage’ letter by the same NPCs. In which P2 receives a gift every time. I believe it was a vase.

Issue 2: One instance, the host was decorating their house. (House was on level 1 upgrade with kitchen). And the bed glitched into P2’s house and stay there for 1-3 in game days.

It’s never happened since.

Yeah it's one of the more frustrating crashes because you also have to rely on the host to create all your equipment for you as you dont both learn the recipe

So it's just at the lab when P2 clicks on "Develop Equipment" they will instantly crash.

Not sure if upgrading equipment anywhere else has the same effect (e.g. merfolk equipment or upgrading tools at blacksmith)

The team is also aware of the PS5 crash issues and is actively investigating. To help us narrow it down, could you share a few details?

  • What was P2 doing right before the crash?
  • If you play again and it crashes, could you capture a short phone video of it?
  • For the multiple-gift bug, which NPC is P2 married to and what was their wedding date?
  • For the furniture issue, do you have any screenshots you could share?

Also, if you and your friend try upgrading items at the lab on P2’s side, we’d love to hear if that changes anything. Thanks so much for helping us track this down!🙏

  • P2 wasn’t doing anything specific before each crash, P2 could be basically doing anything

  • for the multiple big gift, P2 is married to Eva. Their wedding date was on Summer 2nd of year 2. It was postponed, originally it was on 1st of summer, but the game postponed it because P2 was not in the game when the day loaded.

  • unfortunately I do not have any screen shots to share

  • P2 can upgrade items in the lab. The game has crashed less frequently. It seems to have stopped crashing
