I collected the 5 osmium crops and the 5 osmium essences and there was no chime for getting them. The quest bubble didn't count them, and I got no response from Cho Oyou when I brought them to her.

May I ask if you’ve already gone to Cho Oyu and spoken with her? At that point, you should see a prompt to “give quest item” in order to complete the quest.
Could you please try that and let us know if the issue still persists?

Yes, I did and there was no prompt when I collected the Items or when I went to Cho Oyu. I tried several times and she just swam around the chamber like I wasn't there.
