Hey @trail hornet,
Sorry about the crash, and thanks a bunch for reporting it! 🙏
Could you share a screenshot of the in-game Display Settings with us?
Have you had a chance to check if your GPU drivers are up to date?
Also, could you try verifying the game files on Steam? Here’s how:
- Right-click Coral Island in your Steam Library
- Select Properties
- Go to the Installed Files tab
- Click Verify integrity of game files…
Let us know how it goes!
These are her settings . Her graphic cards are updated, we tried that first :) and the verifying screen said all 463 files successfully validated
Update: its still crashing a lot
Hello there,
Sorry for the delayed response—I missed your earlier reply. 🙏
I checked with the team, and from the crash log, it looks like it might be related to your graphics card.
Have you tried lowering the in-game Display settings (or setting everything to Medium) to see if that helps?
We tried bringing it down to medium and it crashed again. I would like to note that once it crashes she can't use her computer until she restarts it. Nothing will open aside from coral island. Even task manager. Is there another way to exit the game instead of it crashing her whole computer?
Hi there, thanks for sharing those extra details.
Because the whole laptop locks up - even Task Manager - it likely points to the graphics driver or power-management.
Could you try a clean reinstall of the NVIDIA driver (choose Custom → Clean Install during setup) and make sure Windows and your BIOS/firmware are fully updated?
You can also force the game to use DirectX 11, which sometimes improves stability:
- In Steam, right-click Coral Island → Properties.
- Under General, find Launch Options and type: -dx11
- Close the window, restart Steam, and launch the game.
Hopefully these steps help stop the crashes. Thank you!
We did all steps plus lowered the graphics even more and she hasn't crashed! Thanks so much!
