Cherry Blossom Festival Doesn't Start

Title: Cherry Blossom Festival Doesn't Start. The area is not blocked and I can enter, but no one is there and nothing is set up there like it shows in the map.
Reproduction Steps: Start the day, water crops, grab some produce for the potluck and head over because I don't want to be late. I get there and talk to Millie who is standing right outside the area, then to Connor who is the only one standing in the area near the opening. No special dialogue about the festival. I waited a while then figured I might have arrived too soon. Left to go diving, came back and still nothing was set up. After the day was over and I slept, the next day everyone commented how they missed me at the festival the day prior. 🙁
Repro Rate: I was in Year 1, so I haven't been able to see if this happens the following year. I didn't try to restart the day since I just decided to cut my losses and not lose progress on diving.

This is my first time posting a bug report so I hope it helps. I wish I had thought to take a screenshot or recording when playing, but I didn't even think about it. I'm also playing single-player if that helps at all.

Thank you so much for sharing all this info with us. After looking into it, we found that the issue happens if you use up all your stamina the day before, right up until you’re about to pass out and the screen turns grey.

The team is already working on a fix, so hang tight!

In the meantime, a temporary workaround is to avoid letting your stamina run out completely. If you’re already on the festival day and it doesn’t trigger, reloading the game should make the festival start properly.
