Reproduction Steps: almost end of spring I was still cleaning the ocean, when it was spring my co-op was planting crops and I was having issues with the invisible npcs.
Repro Rate: every time.
In-Game Date & Time: I noticed after 2 in-game days that I cant find the npcs. And that was after triggering the 'one of us' quest.
Players & Platform: Only 1 player joined, I am the Host and he was P2. Our platform is Steam.
Game Version: Build Version (v1.2-1239)
Input Mode: Keyboard & Mouse
PC specs:
Processor - AMD Ryzen 5 3600
RAM - 32gb
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060
Motherboard - B550M AORUS ELITE

May I ask if the issue also happens to P2 as well? And do you remember the last in-game time you went underwater and the merfolk appeared correctly?

He said yes, the NPCs in merfolk kingdom are all invisible to him too. I went early like 8-9am in game
I dont really remember what time they appeared correctly but I think that was morning. I was eager to do the quest thats why im early XD
waited till afternoon to see if they really are gone
and yes i dont see them

Just to confirm — the Merfolk appeared correctly in the morning, but that was back in Winter before you completed the One of Us quest, right?
We’ve also checked your save and backup files, and the latest backup we found is from Spring 5. Do you happen to still have a backup save from when you were in Winter or before completing the quest?

no i dont think i have, i stopped playing after reporting the merfolk bug

Do you recall if you completed the One of Us quest alone by giving the items to Cho Oyu?
If so, could you also let us know the location where you tried to complete it, and where the guest/joining player was at that time? 😮

I haven’t completed the quest because I don’t know what item to give, I am just looking for her to see if she will tell me more information about the items. I can’t enter the Oracle’s house too because i’m not a merfolk so i’m expecting she’s in the castle, I checked and nobody is there. I waited for like morning until night time and still no merfolk, tried a different Day and still no NPC.

Do you recall if you or 2nd player ever had a cutscene play past midnight that automatically made your character go to sleep while it was still running?

The team also has a couple of follow-up questions:
- Since we released a new update, have you updated the game and opened your save file to see if anything has changed with the quest?
- And do you remember if, before the “One of Us” quest got stuck, you had just completed any underwater quest? For example, “Resupply Merfolk Kingdom” or something similar?
