Xbox multiplayer won't work

My friend and I, had attempted to start a multiplier...I just bought the game in hopes to play with them and kept getting struck with this error code. Not entirely sure what to do here

We are getting the same error on my daughters new account. Is there a certain amount of single player required before MP works?

The purpose of replaying this game has been null and void.... I'm just going to try and get a refund till it is fixable 😓

Yeah, my friends and I have been having the same issues. We have found that turning cross play off helps (all of us playing mp are on Xbox, so there's no need for it)

Just to clarify: did the game close or crash after the “The connection to the host was lost…” prompt appeared, or does this message appear every time you try to start multiplayer mode?

Every single time; even tried to see if the other person hosted and got the same message.
