I’m playing with my girlfriend and I was assuming each farmer could have a pet. Well the game told her that only the host could adopt the pet and so I adopted the cat, Bast (but we named her Chips), but now the cat lives in my house. Is there a way to get the cat to live in her house? Or was there supposed to be a way for her to do it? We both have the same house upgrade and I had a dog previously, Spike Bonkers, that I named Salsa.

If it’s intended this way and there’s no fix then so be it i guess. Just made her sad and I wanted to see if there was a way to move pets to other player’s homes.

No, it was intended so you didn't end up with a whole zoo wandering around affecting performance.

Should still be allowed, either limit how many animals you can get or only have set amount out at any given moment. Current way isn't as fun for multiplayer

Agree, maybe limit it to one pet per player on multiplayer

If it’s not intended that anyone other than the host can adopt pets, then only the host should be able to buy the beds or the hut as well. Otherwise, it’s wasted money for the other players. We didn’t know either that only the host can adopt pets, so the others also bought beds and placed them in their houses, only to realize that they couldn’t have any animals.

Not gonna lie, kind of a bummer to hear this. That's a big loss on multiplayer's part, cuz your friends/girlfriend/family/whoever you are playing with aren't able to have a pet. That makes them sad. It would be beneficial to fix this, either by letting the host dictate who the pet lives with or gift another player a pet or something. Definitely shouldn't let other players buy the pet bed/huts like @carmine raptor said.

Also apparently I adopted these pets and my girlfriend is now unable to see them and they are invisible for her? I don't know how to fix that at all.

It would be nice to have hangouts in multiplayer with your friends/partner

Considering multiplayer was just added, I would be shocked if that wasn't something that gets remedied in future patches.

I’m here to also second this, my friend really wanted to adopt a dog and since I’m the host only I could do it so I adopted it for her but now the dog lives in my house - and I don’t even want the dog as my pet- so I would love to gift the dog/assign it to her house somehow
