Reproduction Steps: I'm just going to bed, get through the summary and when I want to continue to the next day/save, the game crashes. I'm not really doing anything special on the days it happens, sometimes I even redo the whole day almost exactly the same and it lets me save the second time around. Get up, look after the farm/animals, maybe get some upgrades, then go into the ocean/into the cave, go back home and sleep. On the save right now I reorganized my farm because of the shed and didn't really do anything else. Went to bed and it crashed while saving.
Repro Rate: It keeps happening more and more, almost every other ingame day, makes enjoying the game almost impossible ☹️

I have the same problem and its been happening all day. Either that or i simply open the game
Hello @golden shoal,
I’m really sorry about the crash you experienced—especially after making so much progress. 🥺 Thanks for letting us know.
Could you please share the crash log file from your Coral Island folder? Here’s how you can find it:
- Copy and paste this into your File Explorer address bar: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\Crashes
- Sort the files by Date Modified to locate the most recent one
- Look for a file ending in .xml and attach it here
Thank you so much!
Hi hi @sharp swan,
So sorry that you experience the same problem.
Could you let us know what platform you use to play (Steam, Xbox, PS5)? And did the crash happen when you were saving the day, too?
Sorry I just saw this but I play on Steam and yes it does happen when I'm trying to save. It will also just close randomly without a crash report and not save the day I was on
Apologies, I just copy pasted the text from the log instead of sending the xml 🙂 I could send you more crash xmls if it would help? Since the only crashes I had were at the end of the day while saving.
Also, I don't know if it'd help you narrowing down the issue, but after I reported the crash here I followed someone's suggestion in the steam forums (because I really wanted to keep playing): https://steamcommunity.com/app/1158160/discussions/0/603039151637626893/
I blocked Coral Island in my Windows Defender Firewall and I was able to play without a single crash (finished fall, am in the middle of winter now). Again, don't know if it'll help you, but I thought I'd mention it since it's a bit weird lol
After the hotfix from Thursday/Friday the same crash happened again today. Wasn't even doing a lot that day,/nothing different from any other day since it was the last one in Winter. Crash xml and the new save just fyi.
Update: I can't progress anymore. It keeps crashing on the last day of Y1.
I just had my game crash in the same way, happened twice while trying to replay the day.
2 player Co-op, both on Steam.
Day 7 of spring 1
Hello everyone @sharp swan @golden shoal,
So sorry for the delayed response—I missed your earlier reply. 🙏 Does it still persist for you now?
Hi Holmes,
Thanks for sharing the crash log! We’ve received a similar report here:
https://discord.com/channels/623097219628662784/1407905497025216513
We’re still gathering info, so it’d be super helpful if you could add your details to that thread so we can track everything in one place.
Also, if you run into any issues while playing in Co-op mode, please report them here:
https://discord.com/channels/623097219628662784/1405384975137898524
Thanks a bunch for your help! 🙏
Yes, though not as much since I turned the graphic settings down. But it still happens randomly sadly ☹️
I see.
To help us check this further, could you please share your device specs with us? You can get them by:
- Press Windows + R → type dxdiag → press Enter.
- In the window that opens, take a screenshot of the System tab (for CPU/RAM).
- Then go to the Display tab and take a screenshot there too (for GPU).
Also, could you send your crash log file as well? You can find it by copy-pasting this file path to the File Explorer:
%localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\Crashes [the .xml files]
Thank you! 🙌
Heya!
Honestly after it crashed on the same day again I've stopped playing the past two weeks. I started it up today and was able to complete the day, but it crashed in the early morning of the day after (I didn't really get around to doing much).
Here are these two, and im not sure how to find the crash logs. Im not too techy 😅
Oh i think this is it
Oh no, I’m really sorry the crash is still happening. 😔
Could you let us know the in-game date when it occurred this time?
And just to help us narrow it down, could you let us know what your last activities before it happened? Did you happen to interact with any fruit trees or crops right before that?
It would also be super helpful if you could zip and share your SaveGames folder (including the backups) so the team can review everything.
Thank you so much for taking the time to help us investigate! 🙏
Thank you for sharing these details and the crash log file!
Just to confirm—does the Date Modified on that crash log match the time of your most recent crash? You can double-check that in the file’s folder.
Also, could you let us know your current in-game Display settings (resolution, quality, etc.)?
It was until I played today, all I was doing was making a character and trying to finish the first day but it kept crashing. I'll send the crash file. And my display settings are down to medium for graphics, resolution is 2560 x 1440 which is for all my games. But no matter how low I make the settings, it still crashes 🙁
Here is my most recent crash
Thanks for the details you’ve shared so far. To help rule out a few common causes, could you please try to Verify Game Files
This will replace any missing or damaged game assets.
Here's how to do that:
- Open Steam
- Right-click Coral Island → Properties
- Go to Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files
Additionally, have you had a chance to check if the Drivers are already up to date? Thank you!
The new crash was on Spring 1, Year 2. IIrc I was just watering some trees (the ones that die once they're out of season) and getting rid of dead ones.
I hope it helps and can be figured out, I'd really like to continue the game. I enjoy it a lot, you did a wonderful job with it. Just not fun when you might lose stuff over and over again
Yes, my driver is updated. And i did verify the integrity of the game files. It said there were 557. Also, should i keep playing on low settings?
Thank you for sharing the extra details and for the kind words about the game - and, I'm sorry that the crash interrupted it.
Based on the team’s review of your logs, the crash does appear to be related to fruit trees. The team is actively investigating this issue now.
In the meantime, if you notice anything specific—like a certain action with the trees that seems to trigger it, feel free to let us know. Every bit of info helps.
Thanks again for your patience and for sticking with us!
Ahh, I see. Thank you for following our suggestion. Just to confirm, when you were playing on low graphic settings, the crash issue didn't happen?
You can also try forcing the game to use DirectX 11, which sometimes improves stability:
- In Steam, right-click Coral Island → Properties.
- Under General, find Launch Options and type: -dx11
- Close the window, restart Steam, and launch the game.
Hopefully this step helps stop the crashes. Thank you!
Yes, I was playing on low settings. Still am, and it continues to crash randomly. I could send the crash I got today if you'd like!
Hi! Yes, please send us the most recent crash log file when you can. 🙏
Also, just to confirm—have you already tried forcing the game to use DirectX 11 as we suggested earlier?
Here is the most recent crash, and I'll tring forcing the game right now to see if it'll crash.
Hi there, thanks for keeping us updated, and we’re truly sorry the crash is still happening. 🙏
Could you share a bit more detail with us?
- What were you doing in-game right before the crash (e.g. specific activity or location)?
- Does it tend to happen after a long play session, or even on a short session?
- Please send us a copy of your SaveGames folder so we can take a closer look.
→ You can find it by copy and paste this into the File Explorer's address bar: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames
This info will help the team narrow down what’s going on. Thank you!
It doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing in the game, it keeps crashing. Long session or not doesn't matter, settings don't either. It will even crash in the middle of a day. It actually crashed like 3 times in one day sadly.
And it won't allow me to send the file ://
