Details: After eating a stamina fruit I was unable to move my character with the WASD keys and was only able to sprint forward using the spacebar in one direction.

Occurrence: This only occurred to me once during my playtime.

Platform: Steam

Gamer Version: v1.2-1238

I was waiting for the day to end since it was already night time when the bug happened, only for the bug to still be in effect after the next day.

Hi @fair robin , thank you for bringing this to our attention! Could you let us know how did you get the stamina fruit (e.g. purchase with merit points, quest reward, etc), and the in-game date when the issue happened?

Also, could you send your most recent Save File and Backup Files here so we can take a closer look?

Thanks in advance!

I have experienced similar but lost complete movement, I had depleted my energy even to execute an "emergency protocol and am stuck there until I passed out.
This has happened to me twice but passing out seems to repair the issue, it's just a bother because you waste a day stuck in place.

Hi, I had this exact problem! Right after I got the fruit as a museum reward, I ate it and couldn't move anymore. Using the space bar, I sprinted forward and exited the museum. After exiting the museum, my entire UI disappeared, and I was forced to close the game through the Windows Task Manager.

  • Occurrence: First time
  • In-Game Day: Year 2, Summer 9
  • Game Plataform: Steam
  • Game Version: v1.2-1242

Thanks @cerulean quartz @solemn bough for sharing some additional information! Could you tell us exactly what you were doing on the day before, then in the morning prior to the issue? Any detail you remember can help us further investigate the issue!

And if you're playing on steam, could you you send your Save File and Backup Files here so we can take a closer look? To retrieve the files, you can copy-paste the following file path into your Windows Explorer: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames then compress the SaveGames folder into a ZIP file before sending it here Llama_Saranghae_Emoji

Like Nico, I don't remember exactly what I was doing the previous days. I believe I took the previous day to clear the ocean and underwater caves, because I remember having a lot of chests to open (and thats why I got the stamina fruit hahaha).
So, basically, I believe the chronology was:

  • Summer 8: clean the ocean and caves all day, go to sleep,
  • Summer 9: take care of crops, go to the blacksmith to process the chests I won in the ocean, and then go to the museum to donate the artifacts. After donating enough artifacts, I received the Stamina Fruit, which I ate right there in the museum, and the bug happened.

When I received the fruit from a mermaid (I don't remember her name), I had no problem using it underwater, unlike Nico. And one thing I'd like to add is that after restarting the game, I received the Stamina Fruit from the Museum rewards and took it to my farm, left it in a chest, and waited a while (I think 1 or 2 in-game days) to consume it, and I didn't experience the bug.

My backup files:

Hi, I want to add that Ive experienced the same bug. I got the fruit the same day I got 200 items. It happened once before so I had to reload. I didnt consume the fruit until I got home. Thought I was close enough to my bed, but apparently not. I can only move forward in one direction after consuming said fruit.

Currently it is summer 19 for me.

A few hours before this happened, I took care of crops, went to my barn, then to my 2nd barn to load up cheeses/milks/etc. After I did my morning task, i decided to go and pop open some chests, so I went to the black smith. I have quite a few chests (I think 89 pirate ones or something) so I do it until I fill up my inventory. Once full, I go to the museum and drop stuff off. The other stuff thats a duplicate goes into a chest.

now using the Stamina fruit puts me to 717 stamina as well.

Other info: Version 1.2-1242
Platform: Steam PC
Occurrence: seems to happen if i just consume the fruit.
Game Date: Year two summer 19.

If you need more info just @ me ๐Ÿ™‚

#

Im going to try what Bruna said they did: Get the fuit and wait a day or more.

cerulean quartz
#

I think the โ€œbug comboโ€ is summer + museum reward + maybe too many items on inventory?

pine needle
#

Waiting didnt seem to fix it.

cerulean quartz
#

Oh no ๐Ÿ™

pine needle
#

Yea lol

cerulean quartz
#

At least Shei is really trying to help us, hopefully they will fix it โค๏ธ

pine needle
#

I was hoping the waiting would fix it! So at least other people could have a work around

cerulean quartz
#

For now I think for the best is keep the fruit on a chest, maybe try at autumn...?

pine needle
#

Yea, its not like I dont have a lot of food haha.

#

Its not game breaking either ๐Ÿ™‚

#

Huh.

#

OK So get this. Before consuming the fruit, my Stamina is at 720. After? It stays the same

#

Theory: Maybe Stamina is locked at 720. It wont go above that with the fruit.

cerulean quartz
#

I dont remember how was my stamina before the bug

Thanks @cerulean quartz @pine needle for sending in the save files and providing us with some additional information! I'll relay this with the team for checking and I'll reach back to you if we need more information Llama_Saranghae_Emoji

no problem! The one thing I will say Ive noticed since then is that my Stamina slowly went up. Its now at 732 even though I didnt consume any stamina fruit. Ive tried to consume it now that its changed seasons and it still locked me. I dont want to try consuming it close to bed so I can save, but Im afraid of soft locking my game :).

pine needle
#

I might have soft locked myself ๐Ÿ™

Heres what happened: I went into the cave of memories and I got to level 25. I opened up a chest that I didnt know had a Stamina fruit in it. Well, It consumed it. Luckily It was almost midnight, so I figured Id wait the game out and see what happens if I pass out.

I did and was returned home. However, I still cant move ๐Ÿ˜ญ So, Ive exited out of the game and restarted it.

I really hope I didnt lock my game and Im not sure how to activate a backup if I did

#

2nd update: Interesting.

So after it saved, it couldnt move. Well exiting the game, and re-loading made me able to move again.

I see, I'm so glad to hear that you're able to progress with the game upon reloading Scott_Crying_Emoji

Could you let us know what you were doing before opening the chest at the Cave of Memories? Any detail you remember can help us further investigate the issue, including the in-game date and what type of tool you use to progress through each level.

And would you mind sending your Save File and Backup Files here so we can take a closer look? I Just got up but the last few levels in the cave I decided to use rope as it was getting late, so I wanted to make it to level 25. Date wise, it was 5-6 days left in spring. Before this, I did use a pickaxe to get through the levels but like I said, I used rope for the last few levels due to laziness.

#

Id also like to note that consuming any other Stamina fruit locks your character. I still have the other ones saved.

I also hope that in updating this that other people find out about this before doing what I did so they dont break their game.

Got it! Do you happen to remember the in-game time when you went mining in the Cave of Memories? Any details about when you headed in can help us narrow things down.

If you can, please also let us know what you were doing right before you went mining, and whether you had been playing for a few in-game days before the issue occurred. Any extra info you can share would be super helpful! Thanks in advance Llama_Saranghae_Emoji

When I first went in it was around 8:00. When I got to that level, it was close to midnight so I didnt have to wait long for time to run over and have my character pass out.

Hmmm. So prior to that, I had cut my morning short so I can make it to level 25. I got up, petted my cat, opened the barns and grabbed food. The only thing I did farming wise was "water" my underwater crops with the light stick.

And as far as play time: I generally just play for one full in game day since I cant save manually

Quite the opposite! it disappeared once I reloaded since it had saved when I passed out, leaving me in the middle of the house. So the sequence is as follows:

Open chest, consumed fruit and cant move. Its close to midnight at this point.
I wait a few hours until the game makes me pass out.
I get returned to the house, and I "sleep" because the game forces me to, and thus the game saves.
I wake up, find out i still cant move but I have increased Stamina. So I restart the game. I exit out the whole game, and restart it.
Load up the save game, and then I can move.
