So I played Coral island on gamepass last year, and never deleted the files, is it possible to get a singleplayer save file and port it over to steam? or would the outdated version break it?

your file will eventually corrupt, will it be 1 week or 2 months, it will happen and you will still lose everything you've played. And also no bug support will be available to you.
There are 2 options:
- Buy the game on XBOX and continue your old save
- Buy the game on steam and start over (maybe use NG+ files to start with more money)
