Reproduction Steps: I (Host) was able to adopt one pet, but my companion player (P1) was unable to adopt a pet and I (host) was not able to adopt an additional pet.
Repro Rate: After the first purchase of a pet, this has been consistent in the game since.
In-Game Date & Time: This happened after the first animal adoption.
Players & Platform: One host (me) and one player, both PC via Steam
Game Version: v1.2-1238
Input Mode: Keyboard & Mouse

Was unable to provide save file, video file shows issues with unable to find save file from host.

Thanks a ton for sharing all this info with us. We double-checked with the team, and we can confirm that the option to adopt pets is only available to the Host. That’s the intended design for now in multiplayer.

The real issue is with the pop-up message, it’s a bit misleading. We’ve reported it back, and the team’s working on updating it so it won’t say “You can’t adopt any more pets” if you don’t actually have one yet.

Unfortunately, it only allows for one pet adoption for me as the host.
