Ended up with a "hated" pot luck instead of what should've been "liked"?

I hadn't seen anyone else post about this so figured I'd go for it - if someone else has my apologies and I'll combine my info with whoever posted first.

I was mostly shocked as I saw the requirements for what to submit for a hated pot luck and it's near to nothing... and most certainly not what I submitted.

Reproduction: Just submitting an item that was supposed to be a "liked" item (based on the wikia, I think it was a silver carrot or something). I submitted it, partner did not submit anything (didn't know if they could or not).
Repro Rate: Only in spring still of first year so uncertain.
In-Game Date & Time: Spring 10, year 1. During event.
Players & Platform: Two players, both on steam PC. I was hosting, partner is playing with me. Only I submitted an item so my only guess is my partner also would've had to submit the same thing? (he didn't submit anything at all because we assumed you only had to submit once).
Game Version: v1.2-1238
Input Mode: Keyboard/Mouse

Hi @last fjord , thank you for reaching out to us! By any chance, do you have a recording or any screenshots of when you submitted the item for the potluck, as well as the cutscene that follows? Also, could you send your Save File and Backup Files here? They would really help us look into this further!

Apologies for delay - Unfortunately I didn't think to clip that at the time as it was the first issue we ran into, and because we didn't want to restart the entire day we just kept playing and decided to deal with it.
I have the location of my save files up... but I see a few different files? Which one would I be sending you.

MultiplayerState.sav
(I have one single player file and one multiplayer file).
I'm uncertain which one is a backup file? I didn't see how to find that one...

Your Save File is the one with the number on it, and you can tell whether it's your Single Player or Co-Op save by checking the "Date Modified" detail. For example, if you just saved your Co-Op game, the most recently modified file would be your Multiplayer save

As for the Backup Files, they’re located in the Backup folder. But to make things easier, you can simply compress the entire SaveGames folder into a ZIP file and send it our way—we’ll take care of the rest!

I know it's not related and I can make a seperate post if it's still a problem when I load up our multi save - but we also had an issue where we couldn't buy anything at the "socket and pan" store? It says everything is out of stock but our house is updated to have the kitchen. If I need to make a different post I can but I figure I already have the save file here so wanted to ask just in case. I didn't see any other people with the issue :/ (I'll load up the save and double check also but last time we played two days ago we couldn't buy anything there).
