Tree Planting Festival Y1 - area looks unchanged after completing the main event

Issue: After completing the main event (sapling planting), the area where saplings were planted is still covered in stumps, showing no change
Reproduction Steps: Play Y1 tree planting festival? I forgetfully did not copy the save before going to sleep after the festival, and therefore haven't attempted to reproduce it. The morning of the festival I had the cutscene where the Giants' area is unlocked and I enhanced my tools for the first time. Other than that, I ran around catching some bugs and entered the area to start the festival a bit after 13
Repro Rate: Have not tried

It's the same day - I made the post since it always changed after the main event in my previous save files, like in this screenshot. The next year the planted saplings will have grown into trees

The bug report is about the first area still being brown and covered in stumps after planting the saplings, instead of there being planted saplings and growing grass

Figured I'd let you know that Year 2 has the same issue - the newly cleaned and planted area looks unchanged from before
