#Starlet Expedition quest items reset after closing game
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
unfortunately i think i might not be able to play until this bug is fixed! :(( its truly upsetting since i lost so many osmium crops and kelp essence to this issue
I second that, I have lost 75 Osmium crops. No essence so far, I hope it gets fixed. It is very painful since it is losing progress on a quest that is supposed to be hard, but not unfair.
Also I have the newest version and it occured on Steam on PC.
I agree. I’ve spent a LOT of time on this quest and putting in all of that time for nothing is honestly really demoralizing
Hi everyone @cold isle @crisp canopy @unique vine , we're really sorry for the inconvenience—losing progress can be incredibly frustrating, and we completely understand how disheartening that must feel. To help us investigate further, do you happen to remember the in-game date when you gave Cho Oyu the quest items?
Additionally, could you please send us your Save File and Backup Files so we can take a closer look at what might be going on? To make things a bit easier, you can compress your entire SaveGames folder into a ZIP file before uploading it here. Thanks so much for your help 🙌
I dont remember the exact date, it was sometime in early spring year 2
I’m also having this issue on PS5 I had given 65 crops and 20 kelp essence, load back in and it’s all reset to 0, it took my the entire month of summer to get even close to it
I gave her the crops on Summer 16, year two, and it showed up correctly in the tracker. I can’t remember if I noticed on the 17th or the 18th but they’re definitely gone on Summer 18. I’m on PS5 so I can’t provide a backup but here are some screenshots from Summer 16 and Summer 18
Thank you for sending in additional details @cold isle @obsidian timber @unique vine ! I'll relay this with the team for checking and I'll reach back to you if we need more information. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding in the meantime
I have the exact same bug!
Firsts screenshot was taken at 18:11 (6:11pm)
Second screenshot was taken at 18:14 (6:14pm) after closing the game and coming back
This also happened to my quest where you have to help Gong
For now ive worked around it by saving up all the items needed so i can give them to cho oyu all at once and complete the quest
I also experienced this phenomenon. When I quit the game and started playing again, the 30 essences I had already handed over disappeared, and the crops that should have been completed with 17 more essences were reset to zero.
Hi @narrow moat ! We've also received similar reports regarding Gong's Disguise Wanted quest here: https://discord.com/channels/623097219628662784/1407849578488926279 and we are currently working on a fix. Please feel free to follow the thread for any updates regarding the issue
I have this same issue on ps5
Same issue, lost 75 Osmium Cranberries after exiting the game.
If there's a fix, would that mean the objective gets marked as complete again some how, so is it safe to just continue playing?
If not I will use my work around, collecting all objectives in my chest first and hand over everything in one go (unfortunately that does mean 150 crops were used instead of 75)
I had this same issue. This also happened with my Disguise Wanted quest as well as Starlet Expedition, but I was mouse and keybord from steam/ PC
I would also like to know if it’s safe to keep playing
Having the same issue on xbox! Ive noticed the issue for "disguise wanted" aswell as "scarlet expedition "
I am having this same issue with both "Starlet Expedition" and "Disguise Wanted" as well. My 30 osmium kelp has been taken away, but the quest reset.
I lost all my items for the disguise quest. I just turned all the items back in to complete the quest but nothing is happening. I took a screenshot as proof the quest does not show complete even though all items are submitted.
Unrelated, the new years festival did not trigger at the end of my first year, but I will check if there is another thread for that issue.
I am on Steam/PC
v1.2-1239
I had this exact same issue too :( the 75 osmium crops I gave Cho (74 sugar cane & 1 peas) are no longer reflected in the quest checklist.
I think I gave the crops on summer 4, 5 or 6, possibly earlier.
The game hasn't crashed for me recently.

Starlet Expidon't 🥲
Wait you can give her normal crops, not just underwater crops? That’s so much easier oh my goodness!!
Yes! Well it ticked the crops part of the quest for me (before it glitched) so yes seems like it works with land crops too
I haven't even grown any underwater crops yet lol.
Hi everyone, apologies for the inconvenience. Rest assured, our team is currently working on a fix for this issue!
As a temporary workaround, we recommend gathering all the required items first and then submitting them all at once. Until the fix is released, it’s best to hold onto the items if you’re still in the process of collecting them.
We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue. If there's anything else, please don't hesitate to let us know
Just also letting devs know I’m experiencing this issue as well
So I gave all 75 it “ticked” but the next day went back to zero. If I give 75 and the 30 osm at once and complete the quest it’ll be good?
yes, deliver everything in one go
Wanted to add this just happened to me too. Just venting, but: there's no way the avg player would know to give everything in one go unless they avidly read these reports, so it's pretty frustrating to lose all those crops (time played wasted) as a casual player. Casual meaning someone who isn't min-maxing crops and/or playing every once in awhile, not every day.
Anyway, noted.
