Reproduction Steps: Complete Petrified Giant 1 and Giant Village, never received Petrified Giant II quest and finish Water Mine floor 40
Repro Rate: Every time
In-Game Date & Time: This happened during the start of Summer
Players & Platform: Only two players both on PC/Steam, this is effecting both host and co-op player
Game Version: You can find this below the Exit button on the title screen or at the bottom right of your screen.

Hi, I have the same issue:
After completing the giant village mission I didn't receive the petrified giant II, it also happened during summer I just can't remeber the exact date.

I'm having the same issue in my MP game. I'm hosting the game and I triggered the scene with the Earth Giant where he teaches you about enchanting, but we never got the free petrified giant II quest. I'm not sure if thats where it's supposed to happen but yeah we never got it. Here's the files if it helps

same issues here, We didn't get Petrified Giant III quest despite having reached the end of the wind mine. We couldn't proceed with the giants quest and subsequently, after unlocking Savannah, we cannot access it. Here's our save file.

I'm experiencing the same issue. The end of day hit as I was in the cut scene at the end of the earth mine and the quest won't advance. I'm playing on PS5, so I'm not sure how to get a save to share

Seems extremely common if you start the "freeing the giant" cutscene in multiplayer and then the day ends during the middle of the cutscene.

I came here searching for solutions for my multiplayer game as well. As we triggered the cutscene, the day ended and the quest was never given for the Petrified Giant II Quest.

Well me and my partner figured out that so long as we trigger the cutscene everything works fine. Idk how to describe it well but when you break the tablet it plays a scene, then it reverts to normal game play for a minute until you go back to the surface and another scene plays where you get the quest. If you pass out between the two scenes during that moment of normal game play then then the second one never triggers and you never get the quest.

I'm going to assume that in single player, time pauses during mandatory cut screens like this, but it doesn't in MP.
When the cut screen ends, it likely triggers the next step of the quest, but passing out causes it to not end.

I think the overall fix is pausing time during cutscreens, and having all players view all of them (skip if all players skip).

I'm gonna try to recreate either today or tomorrow. Again, either way, something is going to need to be added to restore the quest to people who are in a broken state right now.

Same issue here!!!

Title: I finished the water cavern but I can't free the giant

Reproduction Steps: In the Earth Cavern I clicked on the stone, completed the quest, and freed the Earth Giant, but in the Water Cavern, I can't click on the stone.

Steps already taken:
checked files on Steam
already freed the 4 altars in the temple
Giant Village is already unlocked
already completed the Wind Cavern and started the Fire Cavern
already entered the last level of the Earth Cavern and then entered the last level of the Water Cavern
already redid floors 30 to 40 in the Water Cavern

Repro Rate: recurring

Game Platform: Steam

Game Version v1.2 - 1242

Input Mode: Keyboard and mouse

Hi there, we're currently still investigating the cause and haven't found the trigger so far. Could you let us know the in-game date and time when you finished the Petrified Giant quest? Do you remember who triggered the stone cutscene at the time (Host or Guest), and if you passed out before you were able to get back to the Cavern's entrance?

I just encountered the same glitch, also in Multiplayer.
Never got the free the giants II quest, and now i cant click on the water tablet to free the water giant. Wind mine unlocked just fine, original cutscene was interrupted by the end of day cutscene.

I've finish all the four caves and now I'm stuck =/ sad that there's no feedbacks about it anymore. I found out that the water giant appears on the list of ppl known

I’m happy to share that the fix for the Petrified Giant Quest not appearing is now included in the latest version (v1.2b-1244). Please update your game to apply the fix 🙌

The next quest should appear right away when you load your save file. You’ll just need to re-inspect the stone on level 40 from the point where you got stuck to trigger the cutscene and to complete the quest

The issue where players couldn’t progress with the Petrified Giant II quest has been fixed in the latest hotfix (v1.2b-1246)! Just head over to the cavern lobby to trigger the cutscene and continue the quest ✨
