I've been experimenting with the new romance system and I've been finding odd issues with it. The problems seem to stem from being already married. You can give people lockets to date them, but they're no longer registered as your partners, they stay marked as friends, but you can hug them.

Prior to the update I already had Yuri as a girlfriend on one save file while also being married , so when giving her a new locket I was promoted with 'you are already dating', but on the hangout menu I couldn't do any romantic hangouts with her and the menu said 'you can't because you are not dating'. Quite the paradox there.

Then when progressing with Leah to 10 hearts on another save file, while again already married, her 10 heart event did not show up. It appears the only way to fully test the new system is to either not be married or start a new game.

You can give out lockets. It just doesn't change your dating status. The stuff with Yuri seems to have happened because she had a locket prior to the update.

Yeah because you can’t date after marriage. Not a bug it’s supposed to be like that. You can date as many people as you want before giving the ring but once you give that ring out the option to date or see events if you were dating are gone

I saw all of Leah's events bar the ten heart, and when I gave her a locket it said 'you have a new romantic partner'.

Yes because the ten heart is a dating event. You can’t see that if married because you can’t date anyone else once your married it should be locked after that

It’s kind of like you broke up once you’re married

Seems like an odd way to do it, they should halt things at 8 hearts and remove the locket prompt on the list.

Maybe they can’t block out giving lockets out because it is something you gift but regardless it isn’t a bug

The Yuri situation is a bug as it informs you you're dating. It's unique to her being a girlfriend prior to the the update.

Regardless though these are game play issues and could be stream lined better.

It will still say you’re dating because there’s no breakup mechanic but as far as events and new relationships it’s locked after marriage

Also, did you start dating Yuri before the update, and then notice that the relationship status changed after updating to the latest version?
