Lots of Merfolk Questions

Hi all!
I haven't played for about a year and there's so many updates all the time that I'm wondering what I may have missed. I really wanted to marry one of our scaly friends this time around but I've got a few questions regarding Merfolk... what updates they already had (that I may have missed) and what may be planned...

1. Will those Merfolk who come on land get more seasonal outfits?

2. After marriage, will they join more festivals and integrate themselves more into town life?

3. If 2 is a yes, will they get special outfits for the festivals that have them?

4. Can we hang out with them? If so is that just above water for the few days they come on land or underwater as well?

Basically, I'm really interested in the merfolk romance but the thought of them being completely separated from town after I spent lots of time befriending everyone there is a little off putting.

If you've recently married one of them, how are you finding it? Does it feel very... Detached?

1. The merfolk who come on land get four additional outfits - one for Spring/Summer; one for Autumn/Winter; beach outfits; and Spooky Day costumes (I believe this covers all of the variants, though I may also be missing wedding outfits)

2. If you marry a merfolk, they move into your house on the island and get a new schedule. I don’t know the particulars of each one, but they will also go back to the Kingdom once a season.

3. All three attend the Spooky Festival (since that’s during the week they’re on land), but I can’t say if they show up at other ones, and yes, they do get outfits.

4. You can only invite them on hangouts during their time above water.

Some of it can feel detached or even a little bit weird, but it can depend. Semeru takes his job very seriously and then almost entirely gives it up for you. He also doesn’t get a job with the Band of Smiles or the like, which leaves him kind of listless, I guess, but I’ve not married him myself so I couldn’t say how it feels personally.

Note that it may feel slightly more natural now in 1.2, with romance being revamped, but I don’t believe much has been changed with their marriage schedules.
