Title: Can't continue the quest, the day was forced finished during the cutscene (late hour) and now appears as if we talked with the king but still have to talk with the king. The palace is empty, the town is empty, cannot enter the deep sea either.
Reproduction Steps: Be in the cutscene while the day ends due to time.
Repro Rate: Once per save file I guess
In-Game Date & Time: Fall 5 / 1:00 (end of the day)
Players & Platform: 2 players, both from steam, me hosting, @swift birch as P2.
Game Version: 1.2-1238

Hi shei! The guest triggered the cutscene. I got the problem fixed following the advice of someone about removing the DailySave and using in its place the previous backup file and it worked. As for the backup files, how many do you need?

I got kicked out of that cutscene too at 2am. I keep losing cutscenes from passing out.

So we could trigger the next quest but of course we can't get to the deep sea. We actually need to get the letter from the oracal to continue.
At the point of the first picture, the quest to heal the tree is triggered, but since the softlock is stuck and you can't get the letter, we can't continue.

@topaz crest I also tried deleting the daily saves and replacing them with the backup files. Can you tell me exactly how you did that?
When I try that and rename the saves, the game either crashes immediately when loading the save game or I get the message “corrupted save.”

Maybe your backup file got corrupted too?
I deleted the "DailySave" and then copied in that folder the backup file from the previous day, changing the name afterwards to "DailySave_0".
If the previous day doesn't work, maybe try another one.

Same thing happened to me in summer yr 1. I unfortunately went too far in game to use any save files from my backup 😭. I thought I would get a letter the next couple of days or next season so we went into fall. Still can't progress.

I am having this same issue, I desperately want a fix without restarting! I'm far enough along in my game now where if I had to restart I probably would play another game. Really hope a fix is found!

Hi everyone, we are still gathering information regarding this issue. Could you tell us who initiated the cutscene when the issue happened and which player was the last person in the cutscene? While the player is in the cutscene, could you tell us what the other player was doing?
And if you haven't shared your Backup File, could you share it here and let us know the in-game date when you went to Naga Palace?

Hello team, recently a friend was playing coop, doing the Unwanted Guest quest. They stayed overnight and this kicked them out of the cutscene, by the time running out. They have spend hours and now can’t progress, because no merfolk appear. They didn’t have the backup system activated and now they are far gone in days. Will there be a hot fix for this? I think many people are having the same issues and its concerning given that it is a main mission to progress. Any development in this? I am scared the same will happen to me. #AskingForAFriend

I’m happy to share that the fix for the Unwanted Guest Quest not progressing is now included in the latest version (v1.2b-1245). Please update your game to apply the fix 🙌
The quest progress should revert in your journal. You’ll just need to re-trigger each cutscene to progress through the quest.
