Not able to date new villagers??

Hi yall! So I was wondering if anyone has been having issues with dating a new villager (gifting them a locket). Since the update I cannot gift anyone a locket it just says to check relationship page but they are 8 hearts and all heart events have been seen. I’m confused and just not sure it’s just me or an actual bug before I report it thanks!

Go on 4 hangouts with them and the ability will unlock. It’s new with the new update.
