#Game is blurry after update

Logged on after the update (v1.2-1238) and everything is blurry but the characters. The details on furniture, flooring, walls, and buildings is blurred (pictures below). Everything was normal prior to the update. I've restarted the game, even reinstalled and it's still the same. Any solution?
Playing on Xbox series S, controller

Hello @meager cairn. Thanks for sending the report! If you could complete it using the guideline that VixiaChick shared above (thanks for the help as always @swift thorn Butter_Saranghae_Emoji), that’d be super helpful for us 🙏
Also, does this issue only happen on your farm, or do you see it in other areas too? 😮

Ofc!
Yes, the blurry textures are all throughout the map

Logging on after the 1.2 update I noticed that the textures were blurry ( walls, flooring, furniture, buildings, etc.) people and animals look fine but everything else is blurry. You can kind of see what I mean in the pictures, I can upload better ones tomorrow, but prior to the update the game looked normal

It is an ongoing issue. No matter how many times I restart or reinstall the game nothing seems to fix the blurry textures

I’m playing on Xbox series S, controller, game version 1.2-1238, and I can attach more pictures and a video tomorrow!

Same issue, low poly stuff and nintendo 64 textures everywhere. I'll reinstall the game in few months and see if its fixed

Did the blurry textures start appearing after the newest update, or were you already experiencing this issue in version 1.1b? Also, did the textures appear blurry as soon as you loaded your save file, or only after playing for a while? 😮

If it helps, same for me. I play on Xbox S and it only became blurry after the update. I can add the photos from my original post if it would help

#

We also tried playing around with the Xbox graphics settings but it didn’t make a difference. These included changing FPS, 4KHD/UHD, lower frame rate capabilities

A couple more pictures and a video from around town/ underwater

Ive also noticed holes in my characters ankles. Plus I've noticed with some outfits that I had a neck line like when my head is a different color then the rest of my body

#

Plus I had lipstick on my character before update....since update the lipstick is gone

Hiya everyone. Thanks for letting us know that the blurry textures happen right after the update (without playing for a while), and for sharing all those helpful screenshots! 🙏
Just one more thing we need to check—if you create a new game after 1.2, do the blurry textures appear right from the start? I’m guessing all your screenshots are from your old save files before 1.2?

I just downloaded the game for the first time in months, after the update. My save started with all the same blurry textures, and it had been so long since I played I couldn’t remember if they were always like that. My save was completely new.

Yes I did

Hi everyone,

I just checked in with the team, and turns out the lower resolution textures are a result of optimizations made for Xbox Series S.
These adjustments were necessary to help reduce frequent crashes caused by the system running out of memory.

We understand this isn’t ideal and may be frustrating, but this solution helps ensure the game runs more stably on the platform.

Thanks a lot for your patience and understanding! 🙇‍♀️

Thank you for letting us know, but, will that change in the future or will it look like this from now on?
I do understand it makes the game run better, but the blurry textures are so bad that they make the game difficult to enjoy, if not unplayable.

it was fine for me before this update and the game looked great. i didn’t experience crashes, pleaseee add a toggle for performance/fidelity resolution

@clever olive Omg, I understand it’s all for optimization, but even when I enter a small house it looks terrible. I don’t think that much power should be required if the area is small. It looks really blurry and bad. I understand that lack of power has an impact, but on my PC, which has less power than the Xbox, it looks better. This really needs improvement. 😓😓😓😓

Those of us who posted here is for Xbox Series S console.... If its your PC and still have the same issues why not make a your own report.... If I'm not mistaken doesn't the PC have the ability to adjust graphics? Those of us who play via console dont have the ability to change Graphics.... We're stuck with major blur til the game devs fix it for us. Or give us the ability to choose performance over graphics or vice versa.

Personally I've never had game crashes on my Series S with the Graphics looking the way it did before the update.

That’s true, you should consider fixing this, because the textures really look very low quality. I imagine it was done urgently, but you should consider that in small houses or areas they should look fine. I understand if there are many textures, but if there’s just one rug and it’s low resolution and the design isn’t clear, it really hurts the experience.

I need you to realise just how bad it is to look at 🥲 this is really affecting a lot of players

Honestly? I stopped playing when I find out they were keeping it blurry. The quality difference heavily affects the game and I’d rather chance other issues which never happened before anyways. I might try it again in PC some time down the road but it’s too fresh a wound right now sad_cat

stiff laurel

Right? Not everyone had crashing issues with their Series S system....so if they made it to we can choose to go with Performance or Quality ourselves that would be awesome 👌🏻

#

I've literally stopped playing because of how bad everything looks now.

Hi everyone.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this—we completely understand how important both visuals and performance are for enjoying the game.
The recent changes were made to improve stability, but we acknowledge that not everyone is satisfied with the trade-off 🙏

Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how this impacts your experience goatlove2

I spent almost an ingame year and never encountered a crash on XB Series S. Game looked beautiful already without any issues. 1080p with 60 fps mind you, not talking about 4k. I'm really curious what hardware they were using.

stiff laurel
#

I was in yr 2 and no crashes

#

I would understand if they lowered the quality during multiplayer mode but come on.... single player too?

#

I did make a post in Feedback already about letting the players decide on what they want....
Whether it's quality or performance they want....can even put it in the options menu.... and can only have 1 or the other marked

#

I have seen games that do have that function because some have older systems that have too much on it... while me personally have a 1yr old system that I keep clean and have a fan on top to suck out the heat, that way the system doesnt overheat

Punishing solo players is just lazy. Checking up on this topic last night gave me a good laugh.

stiff laurel
#

Ok. Except the fan i have for the xbox sits on top and turns on when the xbox gets too hot 95°F it turns on at the low setting to suck the hot air out from where the air is supposed to get blown out of...people have issues where their entire systems shut down due to the heat. Hence the fan built to support the Xbox Series system to make them last longer

#

I just love when people tell me what to do and how I should take care of my own stuff...NOT

I really hope this issue gets resolved. It really takes away from the gameplay for all Xbox users. The game looked so good before too and now it looks so unfinished. It’s so disappointing!
