I can try to add screenshots later, but since the update, it seems like you can no longer invite npcs to hang out. Usually, square (playing on ps5) allows you to gift items and invite npcs to hang out, but now it only allows you to gift items. I double checked that it wasn't just that I had already hung out with them twice that week--I had only hung out with Mark once and was unable to invite him a second time. I also checked each romanceable character in the game. It seems to be across all characters.

Yeah I've married Mark, but prior to the update, I could still hang out with everyone. Now, I can't even hang out with Mark (who I have only hung out with once this week). It is awesome that the bug doesn't seem to be affecting you though. It is still buggy for me, and based on the number of people who can't trigger the hangout events, it appears to not just be a me issue.

I wonder if they made it to where you can’t hang out with anyone at all if you’re married because you can’t see the events when you are dating someone. And since you can’t date anyone new when married there was a bug that occurred. I hope it gets fixed soon though!

If the issue is still happening, could you share a short video showing the NPC relationship tab and what happens when you try to ask them to Hang Out? A phone recording works just fine!

I realised I was being sorta dumb. The update coincided with the first day of the Winter Festival for me, and I had not realised that you can't hang out on festival days. Once I played a couple more days, hang outs are working properly again.
