#Game won't load any saves, not even new one I made after the update

Not sure what else to say. I even left the loading save screen alone, went away for five minutes, came back and nothing.
No old saves, no new save from today. It does find the multiplayer save I made today, but not the solo save. I tried turning off cloud saves in case it was a server issue, but no luck. I have also now tried offline.

Reproduction Steps - every time I try to load a save
Repro Rate - Every time I have tried to play. Total of 8-10 times.
Game Platform - Steam
Game Version - v1.2-1238
Input Mode - tried controller initially, then keyboard and mouse.

Hello @pseudo trail @last oar. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you! We tried loading your latest save file on our side, and it opened successfully.

Could you please try verifying the integrity of your game files? You can do this by:
Steam Library > Right-click the game > Properties > Installed Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files

Quick question—do you have Steam Cloud turned on? If so, could you try turning it off temporarily and then launching the game to see if your save file loads?
You can do this by going to: Steam > Settings > Cloud > uncheck “Enable Steam Cloud”

I actually did test this in my initial attempts and it didn’t work. I also tried launching the game in offline mode in case it was a server thing, no result.

I’ve attempted turning off the cloud saves again. Sadly no.

The bizarre thing is, the game can find and load my multiplayer saves.

It's like back when I was a kid and had a playstation but no memory card. Would have to start from the beginning every time.

Hi @pseudo trail @last oar. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you! I’ve checked in with the team, and there are two possible solutions you can try:

  • Turn off Steam Cloud, then go to your SaveGames folder. Copy everything inside to another folder as a backup, then delete the contents of the SaveGames folder (but not the folder itself). After that, launch the game, create a new save, and return to the main menu to check if the save file appears.
  • Try hosting a multiplayer session alone, play briefly as the host, then return to the main menu to see if your multiplayer save file shows up.

Please give these steps a try and let us know how it goes! 🙇‍♀️

Otherwise, at minimum, I can play coral Island again!!! Just gotta start over

Woo! I don't lose my co-op saves if I copied my most recent saves from the copied folder!!! THANK YOU @native stratus for your help on this tricky issue

It’s possible that a corrupted file was affecting the others, which is why your save files weren’t showing up.

Hi! Have you had a chance to try the solutions mentioned above to see if they work for you?

Here are the steps again just in case:

  • Verify Integrity of Game Files
