Baby Name Error

Upon talking to my child, the name has been changed to the placeholder

Reproduction Steps and Repro Rate: I'm not positive how long after the update it started, but after the game froze on me while collecting hay from the silo (music and sounds still audible, screen completely frozen until I closed the game), I restarted my day and went to talk to my daughter. That's when I noticed the name change. It remains in place despite exiting to the title screen and reloading the day, and shutting down the game completely and reloading.

I'm on Xbox for PC and have noted the same issue today on both children. And also the hearts I already had with my babies are gone.

Same issue here on Steam. Placeholder name and missing hearts. She should be Fiona! (I only have the one child.)

Just wanted to add that this is also happening to me, and to also mention that I had two sons before and now they got changed to son and daughter

The girl's name was Sophia, the boy was Leo

The boy came first, the girl is the second child.

I've got the same error. The babies' names are still intact, but the hearts are locked. I play on Steam PC. In my case it's the girl first and then the boy.
Bonus point for spouse losing all 15 hearts lol thankfully this is only my backup save

keep changing the name to child 04 after rename them

If you want to change the name of your character's back or your children go to the town hall and then go into one of the rooms on the left you should be able to rename your kids back to what they were I had the same problem

And yeah it doesn't always stick

Oh wow....I had no idea that's a thing....this actually worked out....for now at least, but for others surprised as me, you first have to save the day after changing names for it to actually take effect.

But I'll confirm if it should revert back to the generic names

We’ve reported it to the team, and they’ll need a bit more info from you!

For those experiencing this on Steam, could you please share your save file and backup?
It’s especially helpful if you haven’t played too far after updating to 1.2, so the backup still contains some days from 1.1b.

Here’s how to find it:

• Copy-paste this path into Windows Explorer: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved
• Compress the SaveGames folder into a .ZIP file
• Send the ZIP file here in the chat

This happen to me when I sleep and the spouse was holding the baby. It will make the baby not interactable. If you restart the game then this will happen

i am also getting this error. this started after talking to my baby for the first time after the update. his name is Beaux, and that is what it said. i do not talk to my baby everyday, so a few game days went by. the second time speaking to my baby is when i noticed the name change. there was no crash, or restarting of the game. i made no changes to the house or the farm. game version: v1.2-1238 platform: PS5 on controller
