Failed to connect to host

• Reproduction Steps: Upon creating a farm, after character creation I get the error message that connection to the host (i.e. me) was lost. This happens every time I have tried to reconnect to my multiplayer file (of which I have not been able to go beyond character creation.) This also happens to my two other friends upon trying to create their own cool farms, although one of them gets crash reports more often than the host connection lost report. Single player works fine. They are currently uninstalling and reinstalling the game to see if it fixes it. It did not.

my friend was gonna host for us and as soon as they finished character creation it gave that error and each time they tried connecting to the farm

This is what xbox is doing.

At first it was saying "network connection error" but once everyone was saying it was fixed on steam. My friend(the host) set up the game.. and I tried joining(guest) her. And as I connected the game just crashed entirely.

The video is exactly what keeps happening to me and a few Xbox friends of mine who are trying to join.

i will see if we can get clips from both sides. we havent tried after seeing its a problem across the board for people.

I cannot. But me and my friends have finally been able to enter the game and are making our characters rn.

I stopped trying after I submitted the report. So after 3:30 hours? I'm guessing the servers were overloaded for a bit

So, did you and your friend start a new save file, or are you still playing on the save file that previously had the issue? If possible, could you share your save file here?

Yup, booted up from the character creation and the intro started then we could all join. Same file. And no it is not possible

May I know if you’ve tried restarting your game several times until the “...lost Connection...” notification disappears, then launching the game again to see if it still crashes?

Yes, I restarted a few times. I even verified the integrity of the game files in Steam. Still wouldn't load after that.

There was an announcement saying they updated the servers or something. I guess that fixed it for me.

first time! we booted it up for the update and then the issues immediatly happened. single palyer was fien thoguh

I cannot, the issue does not happen anymore we are almost in summer. In game.
We cannot send the save file as we do not know how.

Could you please ask your friend (as the host) what they were doing when you tried to join the game? For example, were they already in the game and had started farming?

Tried joining on my Xbox Series X, (I'm hosting on my PC) It does that crash, when I load up and instantly try to invite my xbox, the xbox crashes like the video, BUT, My series S seems to connect most of the time, But when it does crash, It's also the same as the video.
Same outcome as a very fresh world and a played in world.

Host is Xbox, I’m steam player, other two friends are also Xbox, keep having crashes post the most recent update.

My wife plays on Xbox and hosts the game. I try to connect via steam on my pc. Ocassionaly it works, but more often it does not. we are on the same network.
This error I get, and sometimes the error that the host is disconnected or something. But mostly this error: see screenshot added

I posted that the same thing was happening to me and my fiance and was told to follow here. We’re both on Xbox Series S. We both tried to host, and when we tried to join each other’s game, it crashes exactly like this for both of us. Brand new save, happened the first time we tried playing.

It’s now been around three months. My original post about the Xbox joining bug has been locked - Just tried to play coop again and still crashed when joining a session. Do we have any update on this? Thank you.

It has been months and it is still doing the same thing. This is absolutely ridiculous at this point that we still can’t play a game we spent money on.
