**Reproduction Steps:Tried hosting co-op and connect to my own game, only for it to disconnect and show the following screenshot, same issue happens when trying to join other games as well. I have tried reconnecting, using VPN, and nothing works and this only happened on this game.

My boyfriend and I are having the same issue. If it isn't "session not found" it's another error. He was able to join one time and it crashed and kicked him out of character creation, now it isn't working at all.

I'm also having the same issue with my girlfriend. We're on a Steam to Steam connection and we've tried adjusting firewall settings, restarting both the client and the computers, and restarting the router. As far as we can tell it's on the game server's end.

The error message was always connection to the host was lost, while trying to start the server as the host

My husband and I are having the same issue. We are both playing on PC and it isn't letting either one of us host a game. The second we try to enter the game it disconnects the host and doesn't show up as a playable game for the other.

Thank you for sharing your report here.

If you're playing as a Guest through the PC platform and can't connect to the Host, could you try these steps:

Ask for the Host:

  1. Open the Command Prompt (search for "cmd" in the Start menu).
  2. Type ipconfig and press Enter.
  3. Look for the "IPv4 Address" in the relevant network adapter section (e.g., "Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi" for Wi-Fi or "Ethernet adapter Ethernet" for a wired connection).
  4. Take a screenshot of this and share it with us.

For Guest players (Player 2, 3, 4):

  1. Open the Command Prompt.
  2. Type:
    ping [Host's IPv4 Address] -t
    (Replace the text inside the brackets with the host’s actual IP).
  3. Let it run for at least 30–60 seconds.

Take a screenshot of the Command Prompt window showing the results and share it with us. Since it contain a IP address detail, you can share it to my DM or just share the below screenshot.

If you're the Host, playing on PC, and got that error message, could you also check your internet connection?
Since this problem is related to the connection, you could try switching to another internet connection to see if it gives a different result. Thank you for your help!

Guys if the core code is pc (which I can only assume it is) the pc code will be worked on first, steam naturally will be fixed first. The Devs I am sure are working on it, as they were as excited as us for the update. lets cut them some slack and just provide whatever information they need.

On steam/pc. I started a game in preparation to play with my friends as the game host. created a character, cleared an area, planted some seeds. then saved the game. when i went to start the game up to host and play maybe 3 hours after initially creating the save file, I keep getting this error message (the connection to host was lost) but i AM the host and very much connected. scared to start a game with friends that may not actually work after we quit and save.

I also play via Xbox(Series S) and was looking forward to finally playing with Friends and my lil sister. But when I hit Join a Farm I get "No Internet Connection" which is funny cuz I'm able to watch Crunchyroll just fine. My Internet is hooked up directly via Ethernet cable so I can game with the better speeds then WiFi can provide me with.

I'm having the same issue with friend trying to connect to the game "Connecting to Server" eternally..
Both PC, Steam. He can't connect to my server.
We tried the steam invite, as well as the code invitation but neither works. He's in Australia and I'm in Canada so we tried him using a VPN and it still doesn't work. Is the multiplayer server down or something? I see lots of other people are having the same issue. Really hope you can get it back up and going!

We are also having the same issue. Both on Steam, playing in US from the same room/wifi connection. Host side of co op launches fine but second party gets the “Connecting to server” issue. We have restarted the game numerous times (you have to since there is no other way to back out) as well as rebooting our PCs but still no luck. Frustrating since we had a few hours of very fun functional play yesterday before it stopped working! Single player is sometimes slower than usual but functioning.

If your issue is being stuck at the “connecting to server” screen, you could try having the guest host instead. Some players have reported this works, but note that it will require starting a new save file.

If you’re seeing a different error prompt, don’t worry, we’re also investigating and working on a fix for that too.

Isn’t it possible to enable direct connect?
Lets say one day the game stops getting updates. That also means that multiplayer won’t work anymore since it can’t connect to your servers then anymore.
So maybe a toggle to enable direct connect or something would be handy.

Just curious. The connecting to your servers. That lets the game be able to do cross play? Or is there a different reason for it?

I fixed the "no internet connection" issue for me. I moved my game data to my ssd via steam (there is an option for moving the game data from one to another drive). After that i was able to host a coop game without the connection issue message.

I still had issues after the fix today, so that was my last option to try and it somehow fixed it

Sucks that my friend and I can't play together. It doesn't let her join. No matter how many invites, no matter how many times she enters the code. Hell, when she starts entering the code, it says connection failed before she even finishes.

You take the game off gamepass, you say multiplayer is now available and we all purchase it to what? Just look at a title screen? 😕

I've been playing with a friend for a couple of days. After a period of time she will get disconnected from me (the host). When she tries to reconnect she gets an error "failed to connect to host". Both of us have to completely restart the game in order for her to connect again.

I did see that SG is working on this issue, just sort of adding my experience to the list.

I'm on PS5 and my wife and I cannot access coop anymore. It worked for 22 hours and then the next time we turned on the game, when we hit coop it tries to load and then we get the no inernet connection message but we have internet and access to the PS5 network. The coop screen doesnt even go to the save files. I have restarted, deleted and redownloaded the game and still no change. Is anyone else having this issue?

Hi,

It still won't let me and my friend play... I'm in xbox series s, and she's on xbox series x... she's in England, and I'm in usa...

What's the deal? I'm getting quite annoyed at this point... I bought this game solely due to its "multiplayer" promise..

It's been how long now? All these hit fixes, but this is the one thing you can't fix? It doesn't make sense..

And I'm sure I'll get attacked for saying it like it is.. but I'm quite over this nonsense. It's always something with coral

Good morning,
I have the same bug - I'm playing on PS Portal via online stream and my wife via PS5 and I can access the game but my wife gets the message: connection with the host has been lost. Check your Internet connection and try again.

The Internet connection is good - I checked it with other games, so it can't be the issue here.

We’ve released a fix for several connection-related issues in version 1.2-1241, including the one reported in this thread.
However, if you’re still running into this, could you please share a short video showing the prompt or message that appears when the issue happens?

Each prompt message usually points to a different underlying issue, and we’d like to identify which one is still persisting so we can investigate it further.
If you’ve shared one before, it would still be helpful to see if the prompt message has changed since the update.

Also, just to double-check — could you confirm whether Cross-play is enabled or disabled in your settings?
You can check it by going to Settings → Multiplayer → Enable Cross-play.

I've sent videos multiple times... of the same thing..

I'm not gonna keep wasting my time sending the same type of videos. The fix you put through had nothing to do with xbox... I don't have understanding or patience anymore. People can yell at me, but I lost interest

i've tried connecting to a console player from pc but everyone i try to connect to either says connection timed out or failed to connect

We truly appreciate all the videos and details you’ve already provided; they’ve been a big help to the team. And please don’t worry, we completely understand if you don’t want to send another one.
The reason we asked again earlier was only to see if the prompt message might’ve changed for some players, since it can be triggered by a few different causes.

But since your video showed the game closing straight to the Xbox home screen with no prompt, there’s no need to send anything further.

If you don’t mind us asking, could you let us know if you’ve tried a different connection (like a mobile hotspot) and whether the issue still happens?
Also, have you had a chance to try joining or hosting a session to another platform (like Steam or PS5) to see if the same thing occurs?
You mentioned wanting to play with your friends on Xbox X before, and this info will really help us figure out if it’s connected to the earlier case or something new.
