I am trying to join my wife’s game on Xbox series s and when i put the code in it says connecting to server but never does anything. We have tried to host on both of our systems and it doesn’t work for either one. We have also tried restarting both of the systems and it still isn’t working

Hi, I'm also experiencing this issue. So, I've been trying to reconnect multiple times but I'm always getting stuck to this screen. I've restarted the game multiple times, restarted steam, verified the files, and restarted my pc. I haven't seen any errors btw

I am not hosting the game, I'm just re-joining the lobby that we've been playing in for the past hour.

I now tried it with a save I made yesterday with 2 players... today I can only host but my mate can't join anymore. Don't think the fix fixed anything tbh... it seems to have broken already functioning stuff which is...well unfortunate

Always forced to quit the game with Alt + F4 to try again. This screen is blocking.

We can connect through the server but my husband is unable to select his Character to continue and his also having trouble with his button setting, he can save his button setting in the menu but cant in game

It seems it was broken before maintenance. Yesterday on release it was fine but trying to restart after exiting caused the issue.

people were first saying their game would show "No internet connection" but by right clicking your friend, and clicking invite, or join, you would still be able to join them, so it wasnt such a big issue :P. but now it doesnt show no internet connection, but just puts you in an infinite loading screen,

in indonesia its quite late rn, 00:12, Saturday, 16 August 2025 (GMT+7) so they might have weekend rn,

I don't think it's a "server overload" issue at all since my partner can host a new save and I can join just fine but if we load our game from yesterday where I was hosting, it gets stuck. If host a new game, it still gets stuck.

Hi everyone, we're still working on fixing the issue 🙏 We need more time on this but we're working on it.

If you're issue is with stuck at "connecting to server" screen, if it's possible, the guest try to host, some players has reported they're abl to do that. however you do have to start a new save file

If you get a different prompt screen, we're also still working on investigating and fixing this.

We have a similar issue. I'm on Steam, hubs on Xbox Series X. He can host and I can join him but if I try to host, he cannot join me. We have great internet so that's not the issue for us.

Steam is having same issue with Steam vs Steam, i had 3 friends with me yesterday while i was hosting (all of us have game through steam). Yesterday we played for a couple hours no issues, logged for the night. Now today when i load up i can get only one of them to connect to me, reason for why the others cannot is unknown as they just get stuck on the connecting to host. we tried having someone else try hosting and same issue only me and my friend can connect the other 2 cannot

i had the same issue i was playing with my friend for 3 hours ( with some issues to like getting stuck while fishing or with the hammer if u spam right click while moving) but after the 3 hours i got suddenly disconnected and coudnt rejoin like the reft of all here

It would be nice to have a local IP option for the future. If my wife and I are right next to each other we shouldn't have to connect to any server. Especially if these servers ever end up being removed at some point the ability for multiplayer should continue to exist

joining a game through steam invites seems to still cause the connection issue, but joining through code seems to work just fine. I was testing it with the friend that they and I couldn't connect to other peoples games, and we were able to consistantly reproduce it with the steam invite/join function, but were able to join a game just fine with the in game code.

Just to update people this is the correct play above - try and connect via Steam - No Bueno. Give your other half the invite code - straight in!

To be clear please allow me to refer our member as P1-P4 as 4 player.
P1 and P2 can join each other while P3 and P4 can't.
If P3 or P4 host, P1 and P2 can join but P3 and P4 that didn't host can't join
that mean even we try to change the host unfortunately we can only play max as 3 player.

when the other person is already hosting the game, let them go into Party Management > at bottom it should show invitation code, click the copy button, send it to you, then you gotta enter it at main menu

other bugs to report though, anyone not the host picking up a truffle (or coffee bean) and its an instant game crash for them. Barn animals disappear into thin air when the host enters an individual friendship cut scene. anyone not the host can randomly crash upon entering a shed. Then lastly, there is weird things going on with the rock domino skill for those that are not the host.
