I'm trying to transfer a save from my account to my spouse's account, and I can find the location where (I believe) the save associated with my account is [i.e. C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\ProjectCoral\Saved ]. I've logged into coral island and made a save under their account, but I can't figure out where that placeholder file is located so I can swap out the save. Any suggestions as to what I'm missing? Apologies if this has been answered already before.
#Identifying Save Files From Different Steam Accounts

Let me clarify. Is the PC the same or different? Are you trying to transfer your save file from your account and computer to your spouse’s?
If yes, then save file location is the same on every PC.
You can just copy entire folder to your spouse’s computer to the same location.
Paste this into your windows explorer **%localappdata%\ProjectCoral
But if you have 1 PC with different accounts and play 1 game. Never encountered it, but if it is that, could you send a screenshot of the folder?
Same PC, different Steam accounts. I have identified that the "DailySave_0" file from 7:55pm is the one associated with the game on my account, but when I ran the game and created a save using my spouse's account I couldn't find a save file with an updated timestamp.
So, same PC. Next question, do you and your spouse both own a game on steam? Or only one of you? And also do you have one profile on your PC or two?
If you don't mind me asking, why do you need separate games on 1 PC? You can just play using 1 account and make as many saves as you want
I own the game and we're using family sharing to allow them access. Two profiles on steam on our PC, one for me and one for them. We need the separation because they want to play on a steamdeck while I'm playing something else on my machine/steamdeck.
Got it thanks. Don't really have any experience with family sharing, so not gonna say something helpful.
@uneven copper Can you ask the team and help here?
TLDR: Game is bought in one profile on steam, using family sharing is played on steamdeck storing files on the same PC on another profile. They wonder how to set up saves so that they don't overwrite each other when playing on one account and then the other. And is it possible to store files separately. Or is just creating separate saves?
@potent cedar Correct me if I misunderstood
ooooh interesting question @potent cedar when you're on your wife's account, can you screenshot the windows explorer when you right click Coral Island on the Steam Library -> Properties -> Installed Files -> Browse... -> ProjectCoral -> Saved -> SaveGames?
Thanks for tagging in. The requested folder you asked for doesn't exist (see pic), although I'm happy to say that somehow the situation rectified itself. When logging into spouse's account on PC it listed a cloud save file conflict, and I selected a file with 7:55pm as its last edit timestamp. Their save has successfully been accessed on their Steamdeck. No idea what caused the fix but it's resolved.
