New player here: Would you suggest waiting for the new update before doing a playthrough?

Hey guys, I'm someone who generally doesn't have the time or attention span to play a game multiple times. I bought the game during the Steam Sale and am now wondering if it would be smarter to wait for the new update since I read that romance will get overhauled. I have no interest in multiplayer, but the rest of the roadmap sounds like I should maybe wait before doing my playthrough. Since I only played the beginning of the game so far, I don't know enough about the current romance system and how the new one will differ to be able to tell. Any opinions?

The romance overhaul will add new events.
There will be three stages: friendship, romance, marriage
And you’ll get locked out of previous ones only if you gave someone a locket or married an NPC.
So you’re free to play now just don’t give anyone a locket

Yeah yeah if you're a new player more benefits to you. So for now you can enjoy the game, slowly get know how it works. Maybe start to make a choice of who you'd like to get to know better

That's awesome, then I will do my best to take my time so that I won't feel "stuck" waiting for the romance upgrade at some point while moving ahead with everything else. Just need to pace myself a bit, haha. Really appreciate the help, thanks a ton!

Only if you plan on using the multiplayer feature. Not everyone is and those who aren’t don’t have to start over

Is this confirmed? Like the changes to romance will just patch into existing single player saves?
