Free Health Care on Coral Island

Apparently, I don't get medical bills or charged for passing out at 2am.

Load up my save file, and there should be a mail saying as much, but I don't see any indication on the end of day reports (from the previous day) that this deduction is happening.

Reproduction Steps

• Pass out at 2am.
• Get mail saying the bill is attached.
• "What medical bill?" (and also, why were they in my house at 2am which is where I have passed out at least twice?)

Repro Rate

• Every time I've passed out at 2am.
• The townie that sends the letter is different, but I never have a medical bill payment as far as I can tell, let alone attached to the mail in question.

Quick question — do you happen to remember your total money before the day ended previously (right before your character passed out)?

I did do a before-and-after comparison, including shipment income, and did not see any signs of deductions, even after reading the medical bill letter (no bill is attached). I can do a video when I get home if that makes it easier.

(Additionally, you don't even get a letter if you hit 2am while on the Dive or Ocean Cabe maps.)

Here is a clip about it. Strangely, my money increased by 5 after the income addition, when comparing to the addition on the end-of-day screen.

Point of data: I had passed out in the cellar when I took this clip.

We’d just like to compare your total money when you passed out with what shows up in the day recap, to help the team investigate further.

The total money is what you see in the top right with the Giu +heart. I had an "oh crap I need to hit record" when I passed out.

If you prefer I can record another passout at the time of it, for the sake of completeness.

Got it — so it’s the same! No worries then, especially if you remember that your total money when you passed out matches the one shown in the end-of-day recap.

We’ve double-checked this with the team, and here’s what we found:
The medical bill when you pass out, is automatically deducted as soon as the end-of-day recap starts. In your video, your total money before passing out was 93,609, and when the recap screen appeared, it dropped to 91,609 — so the 2,000 fee was applied correctly.

Hope this clears things up! Since this isn’t a bug, we’ll go ahead and close the report soon.

Ah! It sure did and I completely missed that deduction each time!

May I suggest implementing an explicit deduction then, perhaps adding a Fees category to the recap, or trigger the deduction on start of day after income? In other words, show the deduction happening less silently.
