I play on the ps 5 and I had no problem giving the ring. BUT the icons for the fossils are white and yellow and everytime I give the bookbag it crashes. I have tonstart the whole day over and that's alot of work 😡

The team has received similar report here https://discord.com/channels/623097219628662784/1286005837403394159 and is currently working on a fix.
In the meantime, there’s a workaround shared by another player that might help prevent the crash for now:
Make sure to exit the mural menu after each offering. Then, they made the backpack the very last item they offered—and it worked without crashing.
We know it’s not ideal, but it could be worth a try while we wait for the update. Thank you again for your patience and for reporting this!
