New Update + How it will affect friendship points?

Hey everyone, I'm fairly new to the game (and this discord) and I was wondering if anybody could explain how the upcoming update will affect your relationship with characters? I've been holding off on talking to NPCs because I don't want to miss the new cutscense that are coming. I have about 1 to 2 hearts with almost everyone and started to freak out when I got heart events at 2 hearts with some of them. Did I mess up? Am I going to miss out on the new hangout/cutscenes from the upcoming update? Sorry if this has already been asked.

The only expected issue would be if you started dating a character (gave them a locket at eight hearts)

We are not going to be able to see the new cutscenes if we are dating all the characters? I'm at 10 hearts with everybody, waiting for the new update to get married and see the new content...

If you are dating a character, you will be unable to see content specific to them that happens before reaching 8 hearts

It doesn't make any sense. If the requirements have been met, why won't we be able to see the scenes?

I've been waiting for this update precisely because of that, and now I'm not going to be able to enjoy it? Well, that's a bummer, honestly.

At least let the content stay on the tablet of memories.

Because the new content will overlap. You will get different dialogue on a hangout to a date.

There is new content for both.

Understandable, but yet, there should be a way to let old players to see those events without re-starting a new game. Tablet of memories, broke up with the characters to date again later... whatever

The coding that would take would be a lot. They’d have to rework everyone’s breakup scenes or figure out who someone is dating, it’s unfortunate but they were clear that’s what was happening the second they announced the 1.2 update details in the live

Too bad, I'll go back to Coral Island for 1.4 then. I hope the 1.4 update will bring new content that is not enjoyable only through starting a new game. 🤞🏼

There hasn’t even been talks of 1.4 but there likely won’t be a way to watch everything without it, hope you find a new game to enjoy

I wanted to say 1.3... But yeah, I just got the new RF, so I hope it gives me as much fun as Coral Island has given me

and that is why i left my character at the 1 yr mark without working hard on friendships. It was known these cutscenes would be coming

I knew cutscenes were coming but not that they wouldn’t be retroactive however it makes sense to me story wise that you would learn about them as you’re gaining friendships because with a lot of them you aren’t even present and all of a sudden you’re dating? I hated that so I’m excited to start with these friendship hangouts

i just wasnt sure where the cutscenese would fit and i figured if i went past the update in relationship it would be inaccessible, but to be fair ill have more runs on this game eventually. My original run was before early access and while it was sad to give up it just wasnt salvagable after the massive updates. Though experiencing playthroughs even if shorter ones as the game progresses is such an experience on its own

So long as you haven’t given the locket to the npc you should be able to see cutscenes. But I was married in my last file so I decided to start with a ng+ file so I could at least get back to where I was aside from friendships
