Auto-Chests Disappearing Items

Hi there! I'm having trouble with my auto-chests disappearing items. I have the auto-chests set up with slime of transmutation machines on either side to increase item quality, but I noticed that if I put in too many items (notably, I made sure I never filled it to max because I knew the items when maxed in quality would go back to the chest) the following in game day items will disappear.

In the attached screenshots you will notice I lost items from Monday summer 15 after the blackberries (so tomatoes onwards) because on Tuesday summer 16 they all disappeared.

Is this a known issue or is it just my save? Is there a way to get the disappeared items back that I may have missed? Thanks!

Thanks so much for letting us know, and we're really sorry for the trouble with the Auto Chest.

If it happens again, could you capture a video showing when you place items into the Auto Chest and how they disappear the next day? A Steam recording or even a phone video is totally fine!

Copying from a new bug report thread as requested;

I've never had this before, but I've logged in today to fond that loads (10+ stacks of produce) have vanished from my autochests working with aging barrels in a shed. There are also multiple kegs that have emptied & are being refilled first thing in the morning, which feels like weird timing.

I know that the autochests were bugged about a year ago, but I've never had the issue so assumed they'd been fixed.

Is this one of the persisting bugs that has yet to be fixed? If so, is there anyway to get my produce back?

In the grand scheme of my game, the loss is inconsequential, but as a player it's really demoralising that these bugs hit randomly, and makes me want to abandon the game again.

For reference, my game is at 19 Winter 2. I've noticed a lot of lag and glitches as I've got further in this game.

To help us investigate further, could you kindly provide the following details?

• What platform are you playing on, and which game version are you using?
• Do you remember the in-game date and time when you first placed the items into the Auto Chest?
• Could you mention what produce went missing?
• Could you share a screenshot of your Auto Chest inventory and a screenshot of the layout around the Auto Chest?

Regarding your question about recovering the lost items: one option is to revert to a previous in-game day using a backup save file. We completely understand this isn’t ideal, and we’re truly sorry for the inconvenience.

Here’s how you can load a backup save:

1. From the title screen, go to Settings and set “Show Backup” to Yes
2. Return to the Save File list on the main menu
3. Toggle “Show Backup” at the bottom left to view available backups

I'm on Xbox Series X on the most recent available version.

The items have been in the box for a significant time, so no I can't. I know I've been working on my automation for at least 3 in game months.

Multiple produce including regular cheese of varying qualities and regular sake of varying qualities. Others may have, however the box was roughly half full and lost at least 1 line of produce, possibly more.

I am not able to take a screenshot at present (it's a pain to do on Xbox, and there's no bug report feature anymore), but the set up is in a shed, right hand side. Autochest run the full length of the shed, with aging barrels surrounding (two barrels to the left of each chest, one on the right due to space limitations in the shed)

As for the screenshot, if possible, a phone-captured image or video is totally fine too. It would really help us better understand the layout of your storage and Autochest setup.

hey this bug is still happen my coffee bean disappearing when i put in to auto-chests and when i exits game then comeback it's disappear

Oh yeah, I just tested it.
On day25 I had coffee beans.
But when I exited the game on day26, the coffee beans disappeared from the Auto-Chests, but if I didn't exit the game, they were still there.
However, I tested to see if if I played from day25 to day27, the coffee beans on day26 would still be in the save if I exited the game.
I just tested it and it seems that even if I loaded the back-up save of day26, it still disappeared.

OMG I just noticed that all the items in the auto-chess row 5 are gone not just coffee bean.

I tested a lot of things, I found that
At first I thought some items would disappear again. I tried moving a lot of produce to auto-chests, it turned out that from row 5, it disappeared when exiting the game and entering
I hope this helps to fix this bug.

As a temporary workaround, we recommend avoiding placing items in auto chest storage slots 5–8 for now.
