I attempted to place the fish pond I received from the Lake Temple, and instead of getting placed where the preview showed it was put down underneath my character. It had been showing a green, placeable area that didn't overlap with my character, but when I clicked it appeared further south underneath my character. If it's relevant, my inventory had been full and the pond was sent via mail.
Now I'm stuck 'inside' the building as I can't walk past the barrier. I can run around inside of the building's designated area, but I hit an invisible wall at the edges.
