Today I also got a crash when selecting the ingredients for a recipe registered in the cookbook (not manual cooking).

The environment is the same as OP, also playing with a controller.

Specs: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80GHz, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce MX150

Hello, @dapper wigeon . Sadly, I don't have a video, but I can describe what I was doing. In Manual Cooking, after choosing a cooking utensil (I don't think it's an specific utensil, but so far I got the crash with the skillet and grill), I get to the screen where we choose the ingredients. When I press 'A' to pick an ingredient from the global inventory the game crashes. Both times I had gone through many pages of the global inventory before picking an ingredient.
This has happened at the end of the day and at the beginning, so maybe the time of the day does not contribute to the crash.

Hi, Ardian. The recipes were:

• Grill: Assorted grilled platter - the last selected item before the crash was honey;
• Frying Pan: Pad Thai - the last selected item before the crash was lemon (I incorrectly remembered it as the skillet in my previous message).

I’ve encountered a consistent crash issue when trying to cook any dish while using a controller. This issue occurs on both PlayStation 5 and Steam (PC).

🔄 Steps to Reproduce the Crash:
- Open the cooking interface using a controller.
- Switch between inventory pages.
- Select an ingredient without moving the cursor (stick) first → the game crashes instantly.

✅ Temporary Workaround:
Before selecting any ingredient after changing inventory pages, slightly move the cursor using the analog stick (even a small movement is enough). Then select the ingredient. This usually prevents the crash.

This crash is not limited to a specific dish — it happens with any recipe under the conditions described above.

I’ve also recorded a video demonstrating the crash and the workaround.

I too have been plagued with the cooking crashing problem. It doesn't matter what time of day, but if I try to cook more than 2 recipes at a time it crashes. I play with controller on steam

OMG, let's start a club. Today was my first cooking-crash, too 👉 👈
Was trying to cook beet chips and after selecting beets it crashed. Prior to that I was making banana fritter with black oil (extracted from deepvoid ink). Maybe I should've used one of the more common oils... I think Coral Island is just judging my cooking skills 🤣
