trash collector not working

I tried out the trash collectors (the range is still to small in my opinion) and they often don't work in different ways. Sometimes the area around a collector is clean but I can't pick up any trash from the collector. As in there is no icon that it has any trash stored. Even though there should be trash in it as I haven't visited that collector for a few days.
Other times the collector doesn't collect trash even though it is clearly in range of the collector. Sometimes both issues happen at the same time, though the first one occurs more often. Also one collector can have an issue but the one next to it works fine. It also seems to happen to different collectors every time I go underwater. Roughly half of all placed collectors don't work properly when I check on them.
I play on PC/Steam, V1.1b-1237 with mouse keyboard.
The collectors are in lima pulu directly south of the fast travel point and in the orchestra area

Hiya @placid plaza. Thanks for reporting this! Have you tried placing the auto trash collectors in a different spot outside the 60m area shown in your screenshot to see if the issue still happens? 😮

I had one in the 20m area directly above the underwater farm. It had the same issues. I rarely got any trash from it

Okie dokie! When you say you haven’t visited the trash collector in a few days, do you remember if it was less than a week or more? 🙂

Also, noted that it happens in the 20m area too! Have you tried placing the trash collectors outside of that location to see if the issue still happens? We’re trying to figure out if it’s location-based or if it affects all trash collectors no matter where they are 😄

The difference between visits varies. Sometime only a few days but sometimes over a week.
I'll try placing them in different areas tomorrow and report back then

I placed some collectors in the 10m and 40m depth. The first day there was something in every one of them. I didn't collect any. I checked them the next two days again and nothing changed. As in the amount of trash collected didn't increase. Then I collected the trash. The next days most of the collectors were empty, though the area around it clean. One collector I didn't visit in a week. During the week it collected 14 trash. Which honestly isn't a lot.
Once there were two pieces of trash laying right next to one of the collectors.
