Unable to Start Tree Planting Festival Main Event

Hi Team, I got the newest update for PS5 and now I cannot start the main event of the Tree Planting Festival. This has worked on previous versions.

• Reproduction Steps I can enter the festival, use the booth, talk to NPCs, but I cannot start the main event.

• Repro Rate This happens every time I try to start the main event, restarting the PS5 has not fixed it.

• Game Platform (PlayStation 5)

• Game Version v1.1b-1237

• Input Mode ( Controller)

I restarted the console which restarted the game, so I had to start the day over from the beginning - is that what you mean? 🙂

After restarting I was met with the same result which is when I took the video.

Hello again @potent sequoia After starting the Tree Planting Festival, did you interact with the Tree Planting Shop or open your inventory before talking to Connor to start the main event?

If you did, could you try going straight to Connor without opening your inventory or interacting with the shop and see if the issue still happens?

Also, if possible, could you record it?

Confirming that I can go right to Connor to start the main event without interacting with the shop or NPCs. My apologies I wasn't able to get a recording, but this is a good workaround so I could complete the event. 👍🏻

Has this been fixed? I've restarted the day 3x now and still can't get the festival to start myself. I even did per your instructions above to talk to Connor directly but the only dialogue was "I hope you brought your A game today"

Thanks for following up — the issue with the festival not starting is still being worked on by the team, so really sorry you're still running into it!

Just to double-check, how many times did you try talking to Connor? Sometimes it takes a couple of interactions before the prompt shows up, but if it’s still not appearing, a quick video of what’s happening would be super helpful — just so we can see exactly what you’re seeing on your end.

I actually just posted a new inquiry haha. First couple of tries I spoke with everyone, and even gave Connor a gift. Last couple of tries was just trying to get the "talk" prompt to show up and nothing. You can see the video capture here:

Hi 👋🏽 just stopping by to say having same issue on Xbox Series S. Currently in Y2, attached is a picture of the issue I’m encountering.

Just seeing this advice, I will attempt the same on my Xbox to see if it works.

It worked! Glad I don’t have to skip the festival to continue on with my game.

I'd like to add that I have also had this occur inside the clothes shop too, I couldn't accept/deny purchasing something on sale (much like the tree festival prompt) the cursor wasn't visible.

I went back to the shopkeeper and scrolled the cursor all the way to the bottom before backing out of it - then returned to the sale item and the cursor was in the right place to select an option. This work around also works for the festival, if you get the cursor in the right place before activating it!

It seems to be a bug where the cursor (from a shop menu) gets stuck in the wrong place.

Had the same issue, that the cursor was somewhere and couldn't be moved.
Went into the crafting menu and moved the cursor down. Was lucky to hit a position where I could start the event.

For anyone having this problem, I managed to find a workaround without needing to start the whole day again. I just went over to the store booth and opened it. Then went back to Connor and was able to select "yes". Give that a try before starting the whole thing over
