Unlocking Giant Village

I just unlocked the giant village and Grog got stuck on the stairs. I saw him walking in place as the camera panned over to show the Giant Village and during the cutscene he wasn't there. It became really obvious when my farmer waved goodbye to thin air. This is a new PC, so I don't know where my print screen button is, so I wasn't able to take any screenshots.

I only just got the game this week, so it should be the most recent.

I play on controller. I tend to get stuck on 'rock bridges' such as at the north of town and at the beach. Gets kinda clippy.

But that's a seperate issue from the reason for this thread.

To retrieve them, you can copy-paste this file path into your Windows Explorer: %localappdata%\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames then compress the SaveGames folder into a ZIP file before sending it here. Also, do you happen to have any recording or screenshot of the issue? And do you remember the in-game date when the issue happened? 😲

I don't have a recording, but I believe I had to close without saving due to irl stuff, so I may be able to try replicating it.

Okay, yes. I had to leave before saving. I loaded and went straight to the giant village. I selected "I opened my eyes at the end" option (first option) -mentioning in case it matters. He got stuck again.
I'm going to try again because my recording failed.

I had to cut my clip short for it to fit, but you can still see the whole issue here.

It's occurred each of the 3 times I've started the day and gone to the giant village. I've always picked the first option when Grog asks.

Ok. I retried using all 3 options. It doesn't matter what I pick, he gets stuck.

So, um, I started a new save and I've unlocked the giant village again. Grog got stuck again.

Hiya again! Does the issue still happen if you go directly to Giant Village soon after waking up? And could you confirm if you're using any mod or third party app by any chance? 😲

The Giant Village is on my "morning route" so I likely went there near first thing in the morning even on my first visit. Every time since I have gone either immediately or before 9am.
I do not use any mods or third party apps.
I do play using a PS5 controller on my PC.

Bumping this because I experienced the same issue in PC/Steam version today, February 22, 2026. No mods or third party apps. During the cutscene that introduces the Giant Village, Grog got stuck at the same spot on the stairs lead to it, so he ended up speaking from offscreen once the camera panned to the center of the Giant Village.

Spring, Mon 15, Year 1. Last thing I did before I triggered the cutscene: I was just jogging to the location. Before that, I was watering crops in my farm. Same thing happens with below activities as the last thing I did right before I triggered the cutscene (excluding the jog to the location):

1. Collected maple syrup in my farm
2. Picked up a mangosteen in the forest right outside the Giant Village
3. Spent skill points on Combat Proficiency and Geode Finder
   I just remembered I encountered the same issue in a previous playthrough but I only thought it was a weird decision if intentional.

Quick question: can you let us know which platform the Host is playing on (Steam PC/Deck, Xbox PC/S/X, or PlayStation 5)? And can you confirm whether it was the Host or the Guest who triggered the cutscene?

I'm playing solo/single player on PC/Steam, so I guess Host triggered the cutscene.

I think I walked towards the Giant's village? The in-game date was Year 1, Summer 10th (I think).
